Chapter 872

    ?Chapter 872:

“Why did the Lamberts have to kick out the adopted daughter after discovering their biological daughter, Ellie? When Demi returned to the Gordons, they didn’t send Ellie packing. Aren’t the Lamberts being too harsh?”

“Rumors about Carole and Kaiden are everywhere. If I were in Ellie’s shoes, I’d have done the exact same thing! Carole is eyeing Ellie’s husband. It’s obvious why Ellie would be annoyed.”

“If Carole really preferred being home, why spend years overseas? Something’s off here.”

“Is it just me, or does Carolee off as unashamed? Sure, she helped Ellie, but Ellie would’ve thanked her regardless. I’ve never seen anyone demand something like that in return!”

“Well, following Carole’s logic, if my mom decides to marry me off to some random guy because she raised me, I’m supposed to be grateful? Really? That’s beyond shameless!”

Demanding repayment for her help seemed even worse than ingratitude!

Before long, the few voices defending Carole were overwhelmed and silenced.

Aphrodite was reeling, unable to grasp this twist.

How could Ellie be the long-lost daughter of the Lambert family? Wasn’t she just an orphan discovered by the roadside?

Others, like Essence, who envied Ellie, felt their only advantage slipping away.

Previously, they unted their family lineage before Ellie as their crowning glory. Yet Ellie emerged from a lineage equally prestigious, paired with remarkable talents and striking looks. Next to her, they simply paled inparison.

Demi cradled the urn as she stepped back into the Gordons’ house. Upon entering, her gaze fell upon a woman slightly older than her, pregnant and directing the household staff to take her luggage upstairs.

This woman was none other than the mistress with whom Houston had an affair.

“Demi, this is Khaleesi rkson. She’s moving in with us.” Emerging with a fruit tter, Houston guided Khaleesi to settle on the sofa. Clutching the urn, a sense of disbelief washed over Demi.

“Dad, Mom just passed away. Did you really have to bring her here so soon?” Khaleesi’s eyes fell on the urn Demi held, and herplexion nched as she sought refuge in Houston’s embrace.

“Please, get that away from me! I’m pregnant; I can’t have that around me. What if it frightens the baby?”

Demi snorted. “I thought you’d have the guts, considering you’ve moved in. Now you’re scared that my mom’s spirit might visit you at night, huh? You are…” Her sentence was cut short as Houston’s hand met her cheek with a p. “Leave now! You and your mom are nothing but a jinx!” Houston jabbed a finger towards Demi and bellowed.

The p sent Demi reeling, a ribbon of blood trickling from her lip. Her cheek red a bright red as it swelled.

“Dad, Mom was your wife before any of this!” Demi’s voice was a wounded howl.

“That all changed when she tried to run Ellie down! She asked for her fate. Don’t drag us down with her, or Kaiden and the Lamberts will have our heads!” Demi shoved the urn into Houston’s hands.
