Chapter 863

    ?Chapter 863:

Her heart skipped a beat, feeling a wave of support and confidence wash over her.

The depth of Kaiden’s love filled her with assurance.

“Do you understand why I don’t want Caroleing back home? Or why, even if she coulde back, she shouldn’t head to Critport?” she inquired.

    “I get it.” He nodded.

Perhaps he hadn’t realized it before. After all, he’d never given it much thought.

    But now, Kaiden was aware.

The Lambert siblings were hanging out in the hospital’s lounge.

When Ellie and Kaiden walked in, they gave Ellie a thorough once-over, clearly anxious. Seeing her in high spirits, apparently unaffected by Carole, they quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

“Ellie, we’ve been thinking and have even selected some gifts for Carole to express our gratitude for saving your life.” Katharine pulled out a list to show Ellie.

They had thought of everything: from health supplements like bird’s nest and ginseng to jewelry, Ormes bags, and even checks.

They had even thoughtfully arranged for a maid to help Carole during her recovery.

“No need for all this. I’ll pick out some gifts for her.” Ellie was overwhelmed by the thoughtful gestures of the Lambert siblings.

It felt like she, who had been struggling alone, found refuge from the storm.

“Keep your money to yourself!” Daniel said. “We’re your family, so we’ll make sure to properly thank her for saving your life.”

Kaiden was at a loss for words. Why did he feel like he was being made fun of?

“Was it Kristopher who saved you?” Glenn inquired, the news initially startling him.

He’d always thought poorly of Kristopher and was surprised to learn that Kristopher had rescued Ellie when it mattered most.

Whenever Kristopher’s name came up, Ellie’s expression turned serious, and she nced at Kaiden unconsciously.

Kaiden took Ellie’s hand and sighed. “El, whatever happens, remember, it’s not your fault.”

Ellie had always been the one reacting to situations, never initiating them, and unknowingly epting Kristopher’s assistance.

Kaiden had mentioned before that sticking too rigidly to morals wasn’t always best.

    Ellie’s pure-heartedness was her strength.

However, in a world full of shadows, sometimes only those willing to bend the rules find happiness.

“What’s all this about?” Glenn asked, looking confused.

Then, Ellie shared the story she’d pieced together from Bolton and Kristopher about the car ident and how she ended up being kidnapped.

Katharine and Daniel were still too young to grasp what was happening when the ident urred. Now that they knew the details of the situation, they were left stunned.
