?Chapter 834:
It wasn’t a breeze for Baylee to seize the chance. After handling these people, she took Ellie to a less crowded area.
After throwing up and emerging from the bathroom, Ellie’splexion turned pale.
“How about we skip the rest of the shows?” Baylee had been by Ellie’s side for the past couple of days and knew she was struggling.
“It’s fine. There’s just Freddy’s show left,” Ellie insisted, not wanting to cancel. She felt obligated to keep hermitment, especially since Freddy had put so much effort into designing a dress for her.
Baylee, feeling sympathetic towards Ellie, knew deep down that Ellie would honor hermitment and wouldn’t cancel at thest minute.
Just as Ellie took a couple of steps, her phone began to ring.
It was a video call from Kaiden.
Ellie, with her earphones on, leaned against the wall to take the call. As soon as she did, Kaiden’s face appeared on the screen.
It was evening where he was, and he was still in his office, dressed in a white shirt, with his office setting in the background.
“Still at work?” Ellie asked, her smile brightening the screen.
She hadn’t realized just how much she looked forward to Kaiden’s video calls.
“You’re not looking too good, Ellie,” Kaiden observed with concern, his brow furrowing. “Are you feeling okay?”
He remained at work because going back wouldn’t change the fact that he had nothing to do.
Hadn’t there been whispers among his team about him not showing up?
Well, he’d show them by staying even longer.
“I’m alright. Just threw up once,” Ellie confessed. “Perfume never used to bother me this much before.”

Kaiden wished to tell her that she didn’t need to push herself so hard, to attend all these events.
He was more than willing to provide for her, to offer her the resources and recognition she sought.
But he knew she didn’t like hearing that.
Despite her gentle appearance, Ellie was fiercely independent, sometimes even more determined than anyone else he knew.
ncing down at her belly, Ellie remarked, “Seems like our baby isn’t a fan of perfume. That means it’s a boy, doesn’t it?”
Right after she uttered her words, Ellie remembered Kaiden’s wish for a daughter.
Naturally, Kaiden, on the other end of the phone, tightened his lips. Ellie was about to switch topics when Baylee, who had been engrossed in her phone, suddenly came over and stood protectively in front of Ellie.
