    Baylee was concerned for Ellie, so she personally escorted her home. Kaiden, waiting outside the main building for Ellie, nodded in polite surprise upon seeing Baylee.


    Inside, Ellie struggled with how to break the news of her pregnancy to Kaiden. After entering the room, she mused aloud, “Baylee is here, yet we haven’t invited her in for a chat.”


    Ellie used “we,” but her gaze was fixed on Kaiden, implying he should have invited Baylee in for a chat.


    “Marvin is expecting her,” Kaiden replied.


    Ellie found herself at a loss for words.


    Hadn’t Kaiden imed he was not close with Marvin?
