Chapter 788

    ?Chapter 788:

A closer look would reveal that her eyes were tinged with red, hinting at the distress or emotional turmoil she was struggling to contain.

Flossie was well-acquainted with the Rich Bar, and as she turned toward the emergency exit, a wave of weakness overtook her. Without the support of the wall beside her, she would have struggled to keep her bnce. Her eyes stung, and the feeling of wanting to cry was overwhelming.

She closed her eyes tightly, resisting the urge to break down. But as soon as she shut them, the image of Levy with his new girlfriend flooded her mind, and the familiar pang of jealousy resurfaced. He always seemed to be drawn to such stunning women.

Taking a deep breath, Flossie tried to regain control of her emotions.

Suddenly, a sound jolted her, and she turned sharply, rmed. Standing at the entrance to the emergency exit was Levy. His hand rested against the door, and the cold light caught the gold-rimmed sses perched on his nose. His calm eyes met hers, and for a moment, everything seemed to freeze.

A tear slipped from her eye, rolling down her cheek before she could stop it.

Snapping back to reality, Flossie quickly wiped the tear away, turning her head to avoid his gaze. She straightened herself and tried to appear unaffected.

“I’m here to return your clothes,” she stammered, clutching a paper bag tightly in her hands. Inside was Levy’s suit.

Levy, however, had long since forgotten about this particr suit. He had given away many of his belongings over time, and many women hade to him under the pretense of returning his clothes.

However, unlike the others who seized the opportunity, Flossie hesitated. She turned away from the door, like a white rabbit cautiously approaching the den of a wolf, only to retreat in fear.

“Why didn’t you just hand it to me?” Levy asked.

The answer was clear: she had seen his girlfriend sitting next to him.

Realizing the inappropriateness of her thoughts, Flossie caught herself just in time. She extended the bag to Levy with both hands.

“Do you want me to arrange for someone to drive you home?” Levy offered, concerncing his voice. “If you go home alone, Ellie may worry about you.”

Shaking her head, Flossie declined. “My friend will apany me home. I’ll be leaving now. Goodbye.”

Levy simply nodded, choosing not to press further.

As Flossie walked down the stairs, Levy turned to leave as well. But before he could proceed, he noticed the view outside through a nearby window.

He couldn’t shake the memory of the tear Flossie had shed earlier, nor her stubborn insistence on pretending that nothing was wrong.

By some impulse, he found himself standing by the window, his gaze fixed on the scene unfolding outside.

Several minutester, a familiar figure appeared downstairs. Flossie walked toward the roadside, her eyes scanning for an empty taxi. Spotting one, she hailed it to a stop.
