Chapter 755

    ?Chapter 755:

Daniel and Susanna’s visit was brief, and the house quickly settled back into a quiet lull after their departure.

“Kaiden, is it just me, or were you a bit more cordial with Daniel after your chat?” Ellie asked, noticing a subtle change in how Kaiden interacted with Daniel.

“It’s your imagination,” Kaiden dismissed her observation, inwardly attributing his slight adjustment in attitude to a basic show of respect for his brother-inw, especially with Glenn’s impending return.

The mystery of how Ellie had ended up with the Gordons after being taken from the Lambert family weighed on Kaiden’s mind.

Was it mere coincidence, or had someone orchestrated it?

“What’s this?” Ellie couldn’t help but inquire, her eyesnding on a collection of elegantly wrapped boxes adorning the tea table. Given the presence of guests earlier, she held back her questions for Kaiden.

“They’re for you.” Kaiden indicated with a nod, encouraging her, “Have a look.”

As Ellie moved to sit at the tea table, eager to explore the contents of the boxes, Kaiden gently scooped her up, cing her on the sofa with yful ease.

“The floor is cold,” he remarked.

Ellie found herself at a loss for words. It was the height of summer; the floor’s temperature was the least of her concerns.

She bit her lip, a silent protest forming, but the curiosity about the boxes took precedence. She dove into them with childlike enthusiasm.

Unveiling the treasures, she found a gold spoon, a gold money box, an emerald ne, aptop, a limited edition umbre, a fountain pen, a dress, diamond earrings… Each item was apanied by a card, numbered sequentially from one through twenty.

“These are…” Ellie’s voice trailed off as she pieced together the significance, her gaze shifting to Kaiden, a mix of astonishment and realization dawning on her.

“My babe deserves everything that others have,” Kaiden announced, his gesture covering gifts for each year from Ellie’s first to her twentieth birthday. He understood Ellie’s unresolved feelings regarding his previous partiality towards Carole and aimed to bridge that emotional distance.

A gentle warmth spread through Ellie’s heart, her sentiments easing at the thoughtful act.

Holding the fountain penbeled with the number eight, she mused aloud, “Who gifts an eight-year-old a Montnc pen?” The mix of generosity and extravagance drew a bemused smile from her, leaving her hovering between amusement and sentiment.

Kaiden gently ruffled her hair, his voice soft with affection. “My babe deserves to have one.”

“Kaiden, seeing your serious demeanor, I’d have pegged you for a strict type, but you’re surprisingly indulgent,” Ellie remarked, her attention still on the array of birthday presents, unaware of the yfulness her words might invoke. Without warning, a ticklish sensation danced along her neck, followed by a light, teasing kiss.

Startled, Ellie instinctively moved, and Kaiden seized the moment to whisper close to her ear, his words carrying a hint of mischief, “I can’t gauge my potential for spoiling babies until we have one of our own, now can I?”
