    Ellie was the first to pierce the quiet, guiding Kaiden toward them. Her dress, slightly toorge, threatened to trail along the floor as she descended the stairs. Kaiden, ever attentive, subtly lifted the hem to prevent it from catching.

    Soon after, the crowd eagerly engaged in exchanges of greetings, with Marvin and Baylee graciously mingling with the guests. Ellie breathed a sigh of relief, as attention shifted from her and Kaiden to the other distinguished guests.


    Jerome approached, after offering his greetings to Marvin, and joked with Ellie.


    “You really keep your cards close, Ellie!”


    “What do you mean?” Ellie raised an eyebrow in confusion.


    “To own a private ind and a helicopter at your age is quite the feat!” Theo chimed in with a chuckle.


    Edwin’s gaze lingered on Ellie, mixed emotions swirling within. He couldn’t afford to own a private ind. It made sense why his mother believed he wasn’t good enough for Ellie. Indeed, he was unworthy!


    “Eh, how did you know about this?” Ellie expressed her astonishment.


    “It’smon knowledge among our circles,” Jerome revealed. “Darrell got drunk a few days ago; he was shouting in a bar about your ind and helicopter, bragging about how awesome you are, and that he had been dumped.”

    Edwin spected, “He couldn’t possibly have a crush on you, could he? Knowing he’s not worthy and thus feeling heartbroken?”


    Upon hearing Edwin’s spection, Kaiden’s expression turned noticeably colder. Realizing that mentioning someone else’s affection for Ellie displeased Kaiden, Edwin awkwardly touched his nose.


    “Of course not,” Ellie, with a lightugh, brushed off the concern. “I’ll invite you to the ind when you’re free.”


    As for the reason for Darrell’s broken heart, it was most likely Carole. He only had himself to me!


    “Where’s Levy?” Kaiden inquired, looking around.


    “He’s gone to pick up his girlfriend,” Jerome revealed with a smile. “He’s changed his type this time; she’s a good girl, deeply interested in chemistry.”


    Before Ellie could give it much thought, she noticed a waiter calling Marvin away. She quickly informed Kaiden and made her way toward Baylee. However, Ellie noticed that Aphrodite and a few socialites had already approached Baylee before she could.
