    “Please meet Mr. Kristopher Wright, a renowned photographer,” the director introduced him to the group.


    Everyone took turns introducing themselves, noticing Kristopher’s demeanor was reserved yet courteous. However, when it came to Ellie, he noticeably softened.


    “Mr. Wright, you’re…” Carole stared at his legs, surprised.


    Kristopher seemed not to notice her at first.


    But when Baylee repeated the question, Kristopher replied, “My legs are fine. However, I’m not feeling well. Exercising isn’t a good idea for now.”


    Carole was embarrassed by his response.


    It was clear that Kristopher didn’t show much regard for her.


    “Mr. Wright, you’re looking better now.” Ellie noticed he appeared healthier than theirst meeting.


    Kristopher smiled and looked directly at Ellie, nodding. “I’m dealing with some concerns. I need to get better.”


    Ellie thought his statement sounded odd, as if he meant for her to hear it.


    Was she imagining things?


    “I didn’t get to thank you at the Hagua auction. I…”


    “It was nothing,” Kristopher cut her off, knowing what Ellie was about to say. “Miss Gordon, if you keep being so formal with me, I’ll get upset.”


    The idea of him getting upset felt strangely personal.


    Yet, they had met only a few times!

    Now that all the guests joining the program had arrived, they were to take a yacht to the ind.


    “By the way, the cruise ship and yacht are courtesy of Carole’s family,” Darrell mentioned with a grin. “We all owe Carole a big thanks!”


    Glostin was where the Lambert family began their business. After moving overseas, they left their localpany to manage the maritime operations. The Lambert family’s firm was a major yer in Glostin’s maritime transport and tourism industry.


    Everyone felt thankful toward Carole.


    Carole, wearing a polite smile, gave Ellie a look as if nothing unusual had urred, her gaze carrying the confident and dismissive air one might have towards an enemy on their own ground.


    This gesture from the Lambert family was a first for Carole, and she couldn’t hide her joy.


    Meanwhile, Kristopher boarded a separate yacht with his team.


    “Miss Gordon, would you care to join us?” Kristopher called out, looking back from his position on the yacht.
