?Chapter 553:
“Baylee, keep your heart. I have no intention of coercing it from you,” he assured her. “Nor will I impose upon your body.” He knew she had been wounded by Quincy.
Reflecting on this, Marvin’s eyes briefly betrayed a piercing intensity.
Elsewhere, Ellie woke up in Kaiden’s embrace. He cradled her gently with one arm, his other hand upied with the documents he was perusing.
As Bruce was about to leave the bedroom, Ellie’s eyes fluttered open, and he found himself locked in her gaze.
“Mrs. Thorpe, you are awake,” he said, offering an awkward smile.
“When did you join us on the flight?” Ellie asked Bruce, puzzled.
ncing around, she realized they were still aboard the ne.
“Madam, you’ve all been on the ground for an hour now. The ne is parked on the tarmac,” Bruce exined.
Ellie was momentarily at a loss for words, finding the situation somewhat absurd.
“Did you sleep well?” Kaiden asked as he noticed her waking up, helping her sit up. “Where’s Baylee?” Ellie looked towards the direction of the lounge, hearing no sound.
“She was escorted home by someone.”
“And Marvin?”
“He sent Baylee back.”
The sun was setting.
“Mr. Thorpe!”
Right after Ellie and Kaiden stepped outside the airport, a group of sharply dressed individuals in suits and polished shoes caught their eye from afar. These were the seasoned leaders of the GT Group, Kaiden’s trusted circle, all in their thirties and forties. They gazed at Kaiden with eyes full of hope, having waited for his return.
“Why are you all here?” Kaiden asked.

“Bruce let us know you’ve arrived, so we’re here to escort you,” one of the senior executives exined. “Mr. Thorpe, since we’re all here, how about we discuss business?” The meeting was their real purpose.
Their eagerness wasn’t just about working overtime; it was because Kaiden seemed in high spirits that morning. They were keen to address thepany’s issues while he was in a favorable mood, hoping to avoid harsh criticism.
“You can go back to thepany. I’ll head back on my own,” Ellie suggested when she saw the situation unfold.
But Kaiden grasped her hand, unwilling to let her leave. “Come with me.”
Their rtionship had just been mended, and Kaiden wasn’t ready to let her out of his sight.
“But you’re heading to work. I shouldn’t be there,” Ellie said, reluctant to apany him.
The brand department’s director, quick to notice, spotted the ring on Ellie’s finger and immediately chimed in, “Mrs. Thorpe, it’s perfectly fine for you to go there!”
