?Chapter 476:
Baylee’s brows furrowed, and she walked over to the window to check on the situation.
Her gaze settled on a man standing beneath the plum tree in the corner, his unblinking eyes fixed on the exit of the alumni dormitory.
He seemed like a clumsy hunter, eagerly awaiting his prey.
Suddenly, as if sensing something, the man below looked up.
Startled, Baylee quickly stepped back, concealing herself. After a tense moment, she cautiously peered outside again; Marvin had returned to his vigil, seemingly unaware of her presence. Relieved that she hadn’t been spotted, Baylee let out a sigh.
Little did she know that as soon as she had returned to her room, Marvin once again raised his gaze, his eyes locking onto the balcony where she had just been.
As night descended, an eerie tension hung in the air.
Ellie’s phone rang unexpectedly, and the voice on the other end was from the security office.
“Miss Gordon, we’ve encountered a suspicious individual, who ims to be ‘Marvin,’ in the dormitory area. He insists on seeing you. Are you familiar with this person?”
A moment of hesitation hung in the air before Ellie finally responded, “Yes, I know him.”
Puzzlement washed over Ellie.
Why would Marvin be at the security office?
She rushed to the balcony, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, but he had vanished from her sight.
The voice on the phone continued, “He’s not a member of the faculty and shouldn’t be loitering around the campus. Moreover, his presence is causing quite a distraction for the students, and he refuses to leave despite our efforts. What would you like us to do?”
Understanding the situation, Ellie sighed, feeling apologetic. “I’m sorry for the trouble. I’ll arrange for his family toe and pick him up.” After ending the call, Ellie informed Baylee of the situation and requested her to go to the security office to handle Marvin.
After all, Baylee was the one Marvin wanted to see.
???? ??????? ?? ?????????.???
However, Baylee’s reaction was devoid of expression, except for one overwhelming sentiment: incredulity.
Even within the confines of a university dormitory, she couldn’t escape Marvin’s presence.
“Should I apany you?” Ellie asked, her concern evident in her voice.
Baylee shook her head with determination. “I can handle it, don’t bother changing clothes just toe out.”
Alone in the dormitory, Ellie decided to turn on a documentary, intending to pass the time while waiting for Baylee’s return.
Her attention, however, was soon diverted by an unexpected knock on the door.
“Baylee, did you forget your…” Ellie began, but the word “stuff” caught in her throat.
She frowned slightly, her gaze fixed on the person standing outside the door.
Kaiden was still d in his white shirt and suit pants, only draped in a thin coat that carried the chill of the outside air.
Ellie waited for a few seconds, but Kaiden remained silent, his intense and patient gaze locked onto her.
