?Chapter 373:
Marvin pressed on, asking, “If I weren’t your spouse, would you still recognize me?”
The question caught Baylee off guard, her cheeks flushing. “Of course you’re not my spouse, you’re… No, this is silly… I’m not going to bicker with you.”
Baylee yearned for the Marvin she was used to. The one who, despite his dangerous cunning, had a level of predictability, not like now with his bizarre outbursts.
Concerned, Baylee turned to Marcelo, who was in charge of keeping an eye on Marvin. “Marvin looks fine on the outside, but should we consider a psychologist?”
Her focus solely on the conversation, Baylee was oblivious to the brief change in Marcelo’s expression.
Marcelo dismissed the idea with a shake of his head. “No, seeing a psychologist isn’t necessary for Mr. Hill.”
What if that psychologist could actually clear Marvin’s mind?
Baylee exhaled a weary sigh. With Marcelo present, she felt her hands were tied regarding Marvin’s situation. She could only hope for his quick mental recovery.
The word “psychologist” caught Marvin’s attention. It seemed familiar. Had he not visited one recently?
In the bathroom, the sound of water echoed. It sshed from the showerhead, filling the space with a rising mist. Ellie stood under the steady stream of water, wishing it could wash away her thoughts of the scene at the bar.
But it was futile.
Surprisingly, she found herself less angry than anticipated. Instead, disappointment settled in, a heavy feeling directed mostly at herself. She pondered why she continued to hold on, knowing there was a chance of losing from the very beginning.
Kaiden pulled up to the main building in his car. He nced upwards, noticing the master bedroom first. The room was dark.
Could it be that Ellie hadn’t returned yet?
“Hasn’t Elliee back yet?” As soon as Kaiden walked into the house, he asked the servant.

“Mrs. Thorpe is already in her room for a while,” the servant replied.
Kaiden swung the master bedroom door open, and in the soft moonlight, he noticed a bulge in the center of the bed. It moved almost imperceptibly, synchronized with Ellie’s quiet breaths.
A frown crept onto Kaiden’s face. Ellie hadn’t left a light on for him.
This marked the first asion since their marriage that she had gone to bed early, yet she didn’t leave any lights on for him. Usually, if he was not in the room, a floormp would be lit. Though unspoken, this small gesture always brought joy to Kaiden, as if Ellie was waiting for him. But her unusual behavior tonight stirred a sense of unease in him.
However, this feeling disappeared in an instant.
Kaiden silently made his way to the bathroom, carrying his night robe with him. He was unaware that the woman in the bed had opened her eyes as soon as he closed the door.
With a stoic expression, Ellie gazed out of the window at the sliver of a crescent moon. Even though she was deep in sleep, somehow, she woke up the moment Kaiden cracked the door open. It seemed she was subconsciously aware of his presence.
Eventually, the sound of running water ceased, and Kaiden quickly exited the bathroom. Ellie instinctively shut her eyes as the quilt was lifted, and a warm, damp body slid in beside her. Kaiden wrapped his arm around her waist, attempting to draw her close.
