Chapter 370

    ?Chapter 370:

Carole was aware of Baylee’s rtionship with the bar’s owner. She figured Baylee would often be here. Even if Baylee wasn’t around today, there was a high chance someone would see her and Kaiden sharing a booth, sitting close, with her wearing Kaiden’s jacket, and they would…

Probably tell Baylee about it. And given Baylee’s rtionship with Ellie, Ellie would soon find out too. Carole had intentionallye to Rich Bar and stayed in the hall.

“Kaiden, it’s quite cold in here. Thank you for lending me your jacket today,” Carole said. “I’ll give it a good wash and drop it off at Moon Manor tomorrow.”

    “No need,” Kaiden declined immediately.

Jerome let out a chuckle. “Carole, have you forgotten? Kaiden wouldn’t put on clothes that have been worn by someone else.”

Carole’s smile briefly faltered before returning to normal. “Oh, right, I forgot.”

In his mind, Jerome added a note: except for Ellie.

Kaiden was still thinking about the figure he had seen but couldn’t clearly make out. He wondered if Ellie was being treated unfairly at the Gordon family. Ellie was smart and wouldn’t easily be at a disadvantage, but Cecelia’s presence made things unpredictable. Ellie could be quite stubborn sometimes.

“I need to make a call,” Kaiden announced, picking up his phone.

The others moved aside to let him pass.

Carole watched Kaiden leave, but Jerome’s voice brought her back to the moment.

“Carole, you’re back. Why haven’t you introduced your boyfriend to us yet?”

Caroleughed it off. “Jerome, I don’t have a boyfriend.”

Jerome nced in the direction Kaiden had gone. “Carole, Kaiden’s taken now. You should find someone too.”

Carole’s smile became strained. She was aware of Ellie’s closeness to Kaiden but had acted as if she didn’t know—it made certain things easier. But Jerome had just mentioned it openly.

“You didn’t know?” Jerome watched Carole’s reaction carefully.

“No.” Carole quickly regained herposure, pretending to be surprised and curious. “Who is she? Given Kaiden’s preferences, she must be a remarkable socialite.”

Edwin felt confused by their discussion, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what was wrong. Hearing Carole’sst remark, he couldn’t help but say, “Is being a socialite the same as being outstanding? Not all remarkable people are socialites, are they?”

In his experience, only a few socialites could match Ellie.

Jerome couldn’t help butugh. “Exactly! Edwin is right. But remember when you almost lost your underwear to Ellie in poker? Why defend her now?”

Edwin stood up quickly. “That’s not the case! I just let her win!” He admitted to speaking well of Ellie, but he stressed he hadn’t lost his underwear—that was an exaggeration.

“Carole, honestly, don’t you think Ellie is stronger than many in our social circle?” Edwin brought Carole into the discussion. “Ellie is Kaiden’s partner!”

Jerome tried hard to hold back hisughter. It was amusing how Edwin used “honestly” to push his point.

Carole, raised in the country, was familiar with Ellie’s reputation. She had always viewed Ellie’s title as a top socialite with a hint of disdain, never truly considering her exceptionally remarkable. She was d that fate had done its justice by revealing the truth—that Ellie was not a genuine Gordon.
