Chapter 332

    ?Chapter 332:

“You…” Ellie wanted to question Kaiden’s presence. Wasn’t he the one who imed he was going to stay at home?

Just as Ellie was on the verge of inquiring, she altered her words and greeted with a simple, “Hello.”

Kaiden, seeing Ellie’s surprised face, seemed quite pleased with his little surprise.

Just as Ellie was about to leave, Kaiden deliberately held her back.

“I seem to recognize thisdy,” Kaiden said on purpose.

One of the teachers from the dean’s office quickly said, “Mr. Thorpe, it seems like you’ve forgotten. This is Ellie. She was the alumni speaker at the school’s anniversary.”

Most people had forgotten that Kaiden had defended Ellie against Herman’s usations. Those who remembered assumed Kaiden had acted out of a sense of justice.

“Is that so?” Kaiden, appearing rxed, suggested, “Well then, let this fellow alumna apany me to lunch. I’ve heard great things about the canteen food here.”

Ellie found Kaiden’s behavior utterly unbelievable. Not only had he lied about being at home, but he also deliberately mentioned the canteen, suggesting an ulterior motive.

Kaiden was supposed to leave at noon, and when the teacher from the dean’s office overheard what Kaiden said, he saw it as an opportunity to showcase the school. If Kaiden was impressed by the quality of the canteen food, he might contribute money towards its renovation.

The teacher, familiar with Ellie from her school days, inquired, “Ellie, do you have any free time?”

His expression practically begged her to say yes, making it difficult for Ellie to decline.

Howard, however, stepped in, asserting, “Sir, Ellie has graduated and no longer has a campus card. We need a campus card to ess the school canteen.” Howard’s intention was clear—he wanted the teacher to stop pressuring Ellie.

The teacher responded, “That’s not a big deal. Howard, take Ellie and Mr. Thorpe to the canteen and use your campus card. I’ll reimburse your expenses.”

The sponsor’s rare desire to eat in the canteen showcased his frugality. Kaiden shot Howard an unfriendly nce.

Although Howard didn’t get the chance for a private meal with Ellie, he sessfully thwarted Kaiden’s ns. After hours of gloom, Howard was in a good mood.

Critport University’s canteen boasted the best-tasting food, with a self-service pickup method and card swiping. It attracted numerous students for dining.

Ellie found a quiet corner and asked Kaiden to wait for her.

“Where are you headed?” Kaiden grasped her wrist.

“To get the dishes.” Ellie implored, “Release me. The students will conclude their sses soon, and I’ll have to queue up to get the dishes.”

Kaiden, unfamiliar with the canteen, didn’t realize that dining there was a time-sensitive endeavor.

“He will get them.” He subtly nodded in Howard’s direction, who stood a few meters away, patiently waiting for Ellie.

Amused at the thought of Kaiden expecting Howard to serve food for three by himself, Ellie refrained frommenting.
