    On her way to the film set, Ellie remembered something Essence had mentioned—a name associated with Lambert. The name was Carole Lambert.


    Outside the studio city, Susanna got into the passenger seat of the Bentley. She studied the young man driving.


    Quietly, she said, “I’m sorry…”


    “For what?” he asked. His voice was soft, but there was a sophistication in his tone, and his presence felt oddly powerful.


    Susanna stared at her palm lines silently, not uttering a word. The man questioned her again, “Do you realize your mistake? Where did you go wrong?”


    Confused, Susanna looked up. “I don’t believe I was in the wrong. I wasn’t involved with that crazy fan. It was Herman.” She had a valid point.


    The man, irritated, chuckled. “Then why apologize?”


    “I did so because I upset you,” Susanna whispered, her fingers intertwined. “It’s always the boyfriend who says sorry. Why is it always me apologizing to you? Even though you’re not keen on marrying me, I’m still officially your fiancée. Daniel, if you don’t make peace with me, I’ll inform your dad about this.”


    Her boldness in seeking forgiveness was striking.


    Daniel Lambert had no choice but to start the Bentley.


    Susanna, sensing he was no longer bothered, smiled. “You know, there’s a talented stylist named Ellie in the crew. She was my savior yesterday. She resembles your grandmother when she was young.”


    Daniel showed little interest. “Oh, what a coincidence.”


    Susanna had spent the whole year at home, which is why she was unaware of a secret concerning the Lambert family. Over a decade ago, many people visited the Lamberts’ house, bringing girls who resembled Daniel’s grandmother, iming to be rted to the family. However, it turned out that none of those girls were rted to the Lamberts. Some had just used the opportunity to try to curry favor with the family.


    Upon hearing about someone resembling his grandmother, Daniel no longer held any expectations.

    “Ellie, get the secondary lead ready. We need to move quickly.” Right after Ellie reached the set, Charlie’s assistant rushed her to the studio.


    “Didn’t you already take Herman’s makeup shots? Weren’t they good enough?” Ellie asked, puzzled.


    “Herman? He’s been reced. Didn’t you know? Didn’t you hear all the fussst night?”


    Kaiden had been noisy in bed the previous night, consuming a considerable portion of Ellie’s attention.


    Thinking back, Ellie realized she did hear some noise outside her roomst night.


    The assistant remarked, “Last night, Herman was exposed for cheating and having a fling, even though he has a girlfriend. Turns out, histest song was actually stolen from someone else. Plus, he’s made some pretty nastyments about women on his Instagram. And his dad’spany? They’ve been evading taxes… There’s solid proof of all this. He’s in deep trouble.”
