    Since it was a private sponsorship, Kaiden would not gain any benefit from his financial assistance. If it had been amercial sponsorship—such as apany sponsoring the show—the production team would have inserted a soft advertisement for thatpany in one of the episodes, or even disyed a thank-you note to the sponsor at the beginning or end of the broadcast for publicity purposes.


    “I have a lot of money,” Kaiden said perfunctorily. He stroked Ellie’s waist from time to time, leisurely pinching the thin, soft flesh at the small of her back.


    The real reason he had decided to sponsor the show was to ensure Ellie was treated well. He didn’t want another situation like the day before, when she had caught a cold. However, he wouldn’t tell her that.


    He also wouldn’t tell her that, as a sponsor of the show, he could visit her whenever he wanted.


    “Miss Gordon, I thought you didn’t know me. Why then are you so concerned about what I do with my money?” Kaiden asked teasingly. He hadn’t forgotten how Ellie had pretended not to know him when he appeared on set. Now, he was taking revenge on her.


    Ellie was utterly speechless.


    The reason she had pretended not to know him was because she wasn’t sure if he would befortable with the crew members knowing about their rtionship.


    Another reason was that she wanted to avoid any awkwardness. If the crew members discovered that she and the sponsor knew each other well, they would start gossiping about her—and she knew very well how difficult it would be to endure that.


    Ellie felt helpless. Not only had Kaiden asked her to wheel him to his hotel room in front of the entire crew, but he had also ruined her n.


    “Well… rich men like you always have mistresses, right? If I let everyone know I know you, what do you think they’d think of me?” Ellie asked, her voice calm. She thought her reasoning was sound.


    At her words, Kaiden’s face suddenly hardened. “Do you want me to have a mistress?” he asked, his tone sharp.

    Ellie knew he wasn’t serious, but his words still made her pause. She wanted to say something, but hesitated. Would he just make a snidement about her overthinking things, about her being too meddlesome?


    She wanted to tell him that he was free to spend his money however he liked, to do whatever he wished with his body. After all, it was none of her business.


    But the words wouldn’te.


    The truth was, she cared.


    She cared about how he spent his money, and most importantly, what he did with his body.


    Since their marriage, Kaiden had always treated her with respect and love. He stood up for her in front of the Gordon family and had no hesitation in rejecting Essence’s advances. He even organized her birthday celebration and bought her a warm fur coat.


    For Kaiden, his wife had to want for nothing.
