?Chapter 213:
This thought made Demi swell with pride and joy.
In contrast, Joseph sat quietly on a stool, smoking, his eyes veiled with secrecy.
Joseph, who personally epted the funds, knew the truth — the sponsor had no connection to Demi.
The sponsor had explicitly stated that the intention was to prevent anyone in the crew from falling ill or catching a cold due to work. Recently, Ellie had been the only one suffering from a cold.
Joseph was well-connected and knew about Ellie’s past as the Gordon family’s fake daughter. Once a prominent figure in Critport, Ellie was now just a topic of gossip among the elite.
This was why Joseph had sided with Demi, helping her create obstacles for Ellie, and why he supported Akira’s plots against Ellie. Joseph felt a shiver run down his spine at the thought of the unexpected windfall of sponsorship money.
The more Demi mulled it over, the more she was convinced Erick was behind the generous act. Eagerly, she phoned him.
With a yful tone, she said, “Erick, thanks for sponsoring our crew. I’m getting all sorts of praise for having such a generous boyfriend. I love you so much.”
Erick, on the other end, was baffled. “What sponsoring?”
Was Demi hinting at him to fund her crew?
After splurging at the auction recently, sponsoring a crew was out of the question for him.
Still, he wanted to do something nice for her.
That afternoon, the crew was treated to delivered meals and desserts, apanied by avish bouquet of red roses, leaving Demi beaming with pride.
Holding the flowers, Demi headed to the film studio where Ellie was engrossed in a file.

Demi hoped to unt her bouquet, but Ellie seemed indifferent, not even ncing at the roses.
Frustrated, Demi demanded, “Ellie, what’s your n for the Rich Bar issue?”
“Will you apologize to Baylee?” Ellie shot back.
If Demi wasn’t ready for this, Ellie wouldn’t consider it.
“You didn’t get the call?” Demi asked, visibly surprised.
“What call?” Ellie replied, annoyed. “You’re blocking my light. Move aside.”
Demi quickly set down the roses and stepped aside to make a phone call.
“Mom, didn’t Cecelia call Ellie yet? She’s still taunting me about the Rich Bar.”
“Cecelia did call Ellie the night beforest. I was there. But it was Kaiden who picked up. He warned us not to bother Ellie about this anymore,” Litzy exined with a sigh. “Demi, you know Kaiden has changed. It’s just a bar. Just avoid going there.”
Demi ended the call, fuming with anger.
The Rich Bar was highly esteemed among Critport’s celebrities. Being cklisted there meant Demi would be aughingstock in their circles.
