    The car’s heater was on. Ellie felt a lot warmer as soon as she got in the car.


    Kaiden looked closely at the face of the woman sitting next to him. Ellie’s face was pale and red from the winter cold. Her eyes were watery, but still so bright, pure, and charming. He couldn’t take his gaze away from her eyes.


    She always had this look after they had sex.


    “I’m on a business trip,” Kaiden said in a low voice. Then, he motioned for the driver to drive.


    Ellie nodded.


    So he was here on a business trip, and he dropped by the filming set to see her.


    Sitting in the passenger seat, Bruce took care of some impromptu work for Kaiden. As far as Bruce was concerned, GT Group had no business here. Kaiden’s im that he was here on a business trip was nothing but a lie!


    Bruce didn’t understand why his boss rushed to finish all his important work during the day and then drove three hours just to see his wife.


    “Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!” Ellie sneezed repeatedly, her nose tickling incessantly.


    “Ellie, is it because no one’s warming your bed that you’ve caught a cold?” Kaiden asked, ncing at her with a teasing look.


    “Hey, what kind of nonsense are you spouting?” Ellie retorted, shivering slightly. She nced nervously at Bruce and the driver in the front seats.


    Bruce and the driver, however, expertly feigned deafness to the conversation.


    “It’s just the weather. It’s incredibly chilly,” Ellie exined, her ears tinged with a faint blush. As the car rolled forward, she turned to Kaiden. “Where are we going?”


    “To a hotel,” he replied simply.


    “But I have work tomorrow, I can’t just…” Ellie started to protest.


    “Mrs. Thorpe, are you suggesting what I think you are?” Kaiden interrupted, a sly smile ying on his lips. “If you insist, I could always satisfy…”


    Before he could finish, Ellie ced her hand over his mouth. “Why must you always twist my words?”

    For a moment, Kaiden’s eyes widened in surprise.


    Her palm was incredibly soft, carrying the delicate scent of her. “Could you perhaps be less outspoken in public? There are others in the car,” Ellie hissed under her breath.


    It was too quiet in the car, so even if she lowered her voice, Bruce could still hear her clearly.


    “Mrs. Thorpe, consider us nonexistent,” Bruce interjected thoughtfully. “Yes.” The driver nodded in agreement.


    Ellie was left speechless, wondering what Kaiden paid Bruce for such loyalty.


    They arrived at a luxurious five-star hotel, where Kaiden had a presidential suite.


    No sooner had Ellie stepped into the room than Kaiden pinned her against the door, his kiss fervent and urgent.


    Startled, Ellie pushed against his chest.


    “I’ve caught a cold. It’s contagious.”


    Seizing her protest as an opportunity, she covered her mouth. But Kaiden swiftly captured her hand, pinning it behind her, and kissed her once more.
