Chapter 170

    ?Chapter 170:

Kaiden nced at the price list disyed prominently in front of the order window. The prices ranged from twelve to eighteen dors per cup. Seeing these prices made Kaiden feel even unhappier.

“Ellie, you bought an expensive scarf for Baylee, but for me, you only buy something that’s not even worth twenty dors?” Kaiden remarked unhappily.

Ellie was speechless. After a moment of silence, she turned to the waiter and said, “Just two cups. I’ll pay the bill.”

She couldn’t believe it—Did he really think that twenty dors was nothing?

Twenty dors for a cup of milk tea was too cheap for him?

Ellie took the two cups of milk tea and handed them to Kaiden. “Would you mind holding them for me?” she said softly.

Kaiden didn’t say a word and just took the cups of milk tea with a long face.

As soon as he took them, Ellie took out her phone and called a local deliverypany for an express delivery. She was going to send one of the cups of milk tea and the scarf she had just bought to Baylee. When Ellie turned around after ending the call, she was stunned to see Kaiden drinking one of the cups of milk tea.

With a look of shock on her face, she asked in confusion, “Did you drink it? I thought you said you wouldn’t have milk tea. I bought it for Baylee.”

Although Kaiden drank the milk tea, he didn’t like its taste, finding it too sweet. Ellie’sments certainly didn’t help his mood.

Seeing Kaiden’s sullen expression, Ellie feared that he would drop the other cup of milk tea on the ground the next second. So, she quickly grabbed it from his hand. Fortunately, this cup of milk tea had not been opened. She could still give it to Baylee.

As the couple left the pedestrian street to head to the family-style restaurant, Kaiden’s mood didn’t improve at all. His face remained gloomy. Weary and distraught, Ellie lowered her head and rubbed her eyebrows. Why had the atmosphere between her and Kaiden degenerated like this?

She turned to look at the frowning man and said softly, “Kaiden, don’t be upset, okay? It’s not that I didn’t want to buy you milk tea. I just thought you didn’t like it, so I didn’t buy one for you.”

Ellie decided she had to coax Kaiden and calm the situation. After all, he had patiently waited with her in the long queue for quite some time. “By the way, you don’t seem to like milk tea at all,” Ellie added. She was sure he didn’t like the milk tea, so why did he drink hers?

Kaiden turned around and flicked Ellie’s forehead lightly. “Ellie, I advise you to shut up,” he said in a warning tone. Ellie immediately fell silent.

The family-style restaurant was located in an old building.

Bruce had been there for a while and was now waiting for Kaiden and Ellie on the porch. As soon as he saw them, he went to meet them and escorted them to the entrance of the restaurant. A doorman then took them inside.

“How did you manage to book a table here? I asked Baylee to reserve a table here once, and she couldn’t do it. The owner doesn’t takest-minute reservations and he hates people who don’t want to wait their turn.” Ellie was really curious to know how Kaiden managed to pull this off.
