?Chapter 155:
“What? You don’t want me to scheme against Essence? She holds quite an affection for you. You share some of the me for her scheming against me this time!” Ellie huffed.
Kaiden, sensing her determination, retrieved a bank card from the bedside table and offered it to her.
“Consider thispensation.”
Ellie, however, was taken aback by the gesture. The card was a supplementary to his own.
“Kaiden, it almost seems like you’re paying me for having sex with you.”
“What are you talking about? It’s pocket money,” Kaiden rified. Ellie’s raspy voice was a jarring sound to Kaiden’s ears. In response, he pulled her into his embrace. “Enough talking. Rest now.”
Ellie murmured inaudibly, her throat aching, preferring silence.
She doubted Kaiden harbored any romantic sentiments towards Essence. Had it been otherwise, Kaiden wouldn’t have barred Essence from entering his office or dered her as his wife in the presence of Essence and her father.
Ellie foundfort in the steady rhythm of Kaiden’s heartbeat. Adaptability was a curious thing. Initially, sharing a bed with Kaiden made sleep elusive, yet now, his arms were a lulling embrace. During this transformative process, the change was simply brought about by their intimate encounter.
Ellie knew that she had begun to ept Kaiden as her husband.
The next morning, Ellie intended to dispose of the tie meant for Theo.
It was still a mystery how it had found its way to Kaiden.
Yet, despite her search, it was nowhere to be found.
Bruce proved hispetence. After lunch, Ellie received news that GT Group’s topwyer was ready to assist her.
Thewyer, having discussed the specifics with Ellie, promptly dispatched a legal notice to Essence.

“Miss Gordon, we require your bank details for thepensation transfer,” thewyer requested.
“There’s no need forpensation. I’d prefer you donate it to Critport University’s School of Life Sciences and Technology,” Ellie replied.
“Miss Gordon, there’s another matter,” said the director of the design department. “The makeup team for Peerless Grace seeks stylists. You expressed interest in drama and film segments. You might consider trying your hand at being a stylist for this TV series.”
“Peerless Grace?” The title was unfamiliar to Ellie.
The director handed her a document. “It’s a historical idol drama in need of a stylist. Here’s the storyline and character sketches. Check it out. If you’re interested, you can participate in the selection process the day after tomorrow.”
“Okay, thank you,” Ellie said, epting the document.
Exploring TV series makeup had always been a goal for Ellie.
