?Chapter 148:
He stood before her, gazing down. He could see her—every part of her—clearly.
But he exercised self-control.
“Are you asking to get fucked? Huh?” he ventured.
“In your dreams.” Ellie looked up at Kaiden and, in a sudden move, grabbed his tie, pulling him down toward her.
Taken by surprise, Kaiden found himself bending closer to her.
“I want to…” Ellie began, a grin ying on her lips. She could feel their breaths mingling. “I want to know if the rumors about your impotence are true.”
She nced downward, carefully scanning every detail, but found nothing conclusive.
Eventually, she looked up to meet his gaze, her expression full of pride. “Well, it looks like you’re actually impotent.”
Of course, no man could tolerate being called that.
He knew she was saying it to provoke him.
Kaiden’sughter carried a hint of anger as he leaned in and gently patted her cheek. In a low, unsettling tone, he asked, “Are you ying with fire, Ellie?”
Before she could react, he suddenly lifted her into his arms. He carried her to the wash table as she struggled and gasped when the cold marble pressed against her.
Kaiden pinned her to the table, kissing her with fiery desire. He clung to her like a predator, stopping only when she was breathless.
His face remained wlessly handsome, but there was a noticeable shift in his demeanor.
His dark eyes held a depth and intensity, like ink spilling across a page or the boundless depths of the sea.
It was like ying fire with fire.
“I’m impotent? Is that how it is? Well, how do you feel now?” His voice was barely a whisper, yet it carried weight.
“K-Kaiden… you…”

Everything happened in a sh, giving her no time to process what he had just said. Kaiden gripped her chin, forcing her to look at him. He was domineering, intent on controlling his lover.
“Ellie, you asked for this. Don’t me me if you end up in tears tonight.”
The main building’s lights remained on throughout the night.
As dawn approached, they had just finished. Kaiden reached for the smart switch at the head of the bed, opening the window to let in fresh air. Instinctively, he reached for a cigarette, but as the cigar touched his fingers, the presence of the woman beside him came to mind, and he set it aside.
Tucked within the quilt, Ellie appeared especially small against the vastness of the bed. Her slender form was entuated by the way her corbone and one army outside the covers. Her gracefully exposed shoulder only highlighted her beauty. The dip of her corbone, deep enough to hold water during her baths, was particrly striking.
Against the dark hue of the bedsheets, her skin looked even more luminous. Yet the marks scattered across her body stood out starkly against her soft skin. Kaiden squinted, briefly considering another round of intimacy, but gave up.
He tried to tuck her arm back under the quilt, but the moment his fingers brushed her skin, she flinched slightly, murmuring words of protest in her sleep. Kaiden froze. Could he really be that unsettling?
