?Chapter 119:
Erick dropped his hand from his face, the numbness from the p lingering.
He believed he wasn’t the one to me; Kaiden was the instigator. Yet, he held back from further arguing with Talon.
Just as he was about to offer an apology, his words halted abruptly.
“Kaiden doesn’t hold sway in our family. How did hee by such a fortune?” Erick stumbled upon a significant mystery. “He dropped three billion at the auction effortlessly. Even considering family dividends, he shouldn’t possess that kind of liquidity!” Talon and Genesis looked at each other with grave expressions.
Indeed, how did Kaiden acquire such wealth?
“Let’s have someone look into this! Where on earth did he find so much money?”
That afternoon, Ellie’s phone rang with news from the hospital.
The hospital staff informed her that Cecelia had been discharged.
Ellie expressed her gratitude and, still worried about Cecelia, considered making ns to visit the Gordons. However, her thoughts were interrupted by a call from Litzy.
Litzy invited her to dinner at the Gordons’ house.
A dinner invitation out of the blue?
Ellie sensed there might be more to this than just a simple meal with the Gordon family.
After more than a month away, Ellie returned to the Gordon family vi. It felt like a ce she once knew well, yet now it seemed alien.
Everything and everyone had changed.
A maid escorted Ellie inside.
“Can you believe it? Cecelia made a killing from this illness!” Litzy was gleefully counting money in the living room, toggling between a calctor and jotting down notes. “Look at this one, only twenty thousand. Stingy, right? And this person sent so much nourishment. I’ll send it up to your roomter, Demi.”
“Thanks, Mom!” Demi, seated beside Litzy, smiled, helping with the tally.

This bout of Cecelia’s illness had be an unexpected windfall for them, judging by the sympathy gifts amassed.
Ellie’s face turned steely.
The maid announced, “Mrs. Gordon, Miss Gordon has arrived.” Litzy’s smile waned at the sight of Ellie. Inspecting her from head to toe, she asked, “You came without anything?”
Ellie simply nodded.
She had intentionally arrived without a gift.
Litzy and Houston didn’t merit anything more from her!
A scowl crossed Litzy’s face. “How impolite!”
Demi’s eyes sparkled with malice, clearly relishing Ellie’s difort.
“Where’s Grandma?” Ellie looked around, not finding Cecelia.
Litzy gestured for the maid to show Ellie the way.
Cecelia was in a guest room beside the first-floor storeroom, bandaged and frail in bed. Her eyes brightened upon seeing Ellie.
