?Chapter 106:
Throughout the auction, Kaiden had done little else but bid on various items, seemingly relishing the process. His carefree spending had brought him a sense of satisfaction.
Ellie, too, had yed her part well, much to Kaiden’s amusement.
The auction house had arranged for the delivery of the items to Moon Manor through their security service, sparing the bidders the hassle of transporting their purchases.
After the auction, Ellie walked with Kaiden toward the parking lot but stopped short of getting into the car.
“I need to talk to Demi,” Ellie informed Kaiden, hinting that he should leave first.
When Kaiden remained silent, Ellie quickly added, “Don’t worry, I have no interest in your nephew who couldn’t manage the 2 billion. It’s just about Demi.”
Kaiden gestured to Bruce to close the car door, indicating he wouldn’t wait for Ellie.
In the car, Bruce, puzzled, asked, “Mr. Thorpe, where to next?”
“Circle back in five minutes,” Kaiden instructed.
Bruce was baffled by Kaiden’s request. What the hell? Why would Kaiden pretend not to care just now? Yet now he wanted Bruce to drive the car back to the auction house five minutester?
Ultimately, Erick faced a hefty half-billion penalty for his inability to fulfill his bid.
Erick and Demi exited the auction house, both visibly upset.
Erick was frustrated for spending so much yet losing face, while Demi felt overshadowed by Ellie again.
Upon reaching the parking lot, Demi noticed Ellie standing there, waiting. When their eyes met, Ellie maintained her gaze, not looking away.
It was clear that Ellie had been waiting specifically for Demi.
“Are you going to apologize to me?” Demi asked with a haughty tilt of her chin. “I won’t forgive you! I’ll even tell my parents what a heartless woman you are!”

Ellie, unflinching, retorted, “Are you out of your mind, or are you having a daydream?”
Why would she apologize to Demi when Demi was the one who caused all the trouble?
Trying to be patient, Ellie said, “I’m here to advise you. Visit Grandma in the hospital if you want to maintain your good image.”
In their social circle, maintaining a good image was crucial for Demi’s prospects.
Demi dismissed the advice with a scoff. She crossed her arms in a disy of arrogance. She taunted in a defiant tone, “I won’t visit that old woman. What can you do about it, huh? You are in no position to give orders…”
Demi’s words halted abruptly as she was thrust against the hood of a sports car by Ellie. The impact was painful, immobilizing her.
Ellie, towering over Demi with a chilling presence, gazed down sternly. Her voice, icy and authoritative, manded, “You should address her as Grandma, Demi.”
“Ellie, release me! You bastard! Ouch! You’re hurting me!” Demi protested, struggling fruitlessly against the car.
Ellie tightened her hold, her tone calm yet firm. “Say ‘Grandma’. Say it aloud! Repeat it until you get it right.”
