Chapter 94

    ?Chapter 94:

Kaiden’s schedule was packed. After he left, he attended an international conference, where he sternly rebuked each participant.

A man of few words, his reprimands were often non-verbal. His icy stare alone left many wondering what they had done wrong. They were utterly baffled.

Jerome visited GT Group to see Kaiden.

He sighed. “Kaiden, are you in a foul mood these days? Your executives are allining to me, using you of being heartless.”

Theirints weren’t entirely serious. They knew of Jerome’s close ties with Kaiden and hoped he might uncover if they had inadvertently offended Kaiden, leading to his aloofness.

Kaiden nced up, uninterested. “Don’t you have better things to do?”

“Yeah.” Jerome settled into a chair across from Kaiden. “Well, I need to enjoy the perks of being a boss. I guess you don’t rte to that kind of pleasure.”

He then quipped, “Sorry, I forgot you don’t understand such joys.”

Impatient, Kaiden retorted, “If it’s not important, leave.”

In essence, if Jerome had something significant to say, he should speak up.

“Having trouble with your wife? Hermès just released some exclusive leather bags. Women love them, and they’re great for making peace!” Jerome ventured.

    Kaiden’s gaze hardened.

A Hermès bag? Perhaps it was less effective than a simple, inexpensive street-side hot chocte.

Jerome squirmed under Kaiden’s intense look. He quickly divulged, “Bruce told me you and your wife argued! It’s odd; Ellie seems so even-tempered. How did you upset her? Let me know, and I can help you sort it out.”

Kaiden pondered what Jerome meant by ‘upsetting Ellie.’

He subtly gestured toward the door with his chin, a clear signal for Jerome to leave.

Jerome, with a resigned smile and an “OK” gesture, quickly exited. He regretted his curiosity about such aplex emotional matter.

    The office fell silent.

Kaiden then opened his right-hand drawer and retrieved two auction invitations.

He called Bruce, instructing, “Tell Ellie to join me at the auction tonight.”

    Meanwhile, outside the hospital.

“An auction?” Hearing about the auction, Ellie eyed the evening gown Bruce offered but didn’t ept it. “I don’t have time,” she firmly declined.

Bruce, still holding the gown, persisted. “Mrs. Thorpe, Mrs. Gordon’s condition is stable. Mr. Thorpe has informed the Gordons to take over her care. You can rest assured. And remember, whether you are GT Group’s coborative stylist or Mrs. Thorpe, Mr. Thorpe has the right to invite you.”

    His words had multiple meanings.
