?Chapter 82:
The next day, the attending doctor approached Ellie with two business cards.
“Miss, aside from Professor Walters, you have two other options—Frank Thorpe and Theo Stephens. Both are Professor Walters’s prized pupils, but Theo’s booked for surgery until next year. Getting an appointment with him is a tall order.”
Ellie squeezed her eyes shut, a headache beginning to form.
These options weren’t ideal.
Frank was Erick’s cousin, pletely under Erick’s influence. Theo, on the other hand, was Edwin’s older brother and the heir to the Stephens family.
Erick must have tipped off Frank. If Erick wasn’t on board, Frank wouldn’t lift a finger for Cecelia.
As for Theo, he was a top-notch brain surgeon. Ellie trusted his skills more.
But…
Ellie and Theo weren’t exactly on the best terms. Worse, she had shed with Edwin during theirst encounter. The cause of their falling out? A dice fiasco.
Now, the only glimmer of hopey with Kaiden. Only he could make this happen. Without wasting a moment, Ellie dialed Kaiden’s number. It struck her then that she hadn’t saved his number.
Luckily, she had Bruce’s number.
“Mrs. Thorpe.” The call was quickly connected.
“Is Kaiden around? I have something pressing to discuss with him. Is he avable?” Ellie inquired.
Bruce nced quickly at the lone drinker on the sofa not too far off. It seemed Kaiden wasn’t too keen on a chat.
After a moment’s pause, Bruce responded, “Hold on a second.”
He covered the receiver, walked over, and murmured, “Mr. Thorpe, Mrs. Thorpe wants a word with you.”
“Tell her to fuck off!” Kaiden smirked, finishing his ss of whisky.

Could she hunt him down whenever she pleased?
Kaiden smacked his lips, recalling Ellie holding Erick’s hand the previous night.
Bruce had little choice but to ry the message. “Mrs. Thorpe, Mr. Thorpe is tied up right now.”
The reason Bruce had kept Ellie on hold earlier was pretty clear—Kaiden had turned her down.
Ellie’s rapport with Kaiden had been improving a few days ago, but now the tables had turned. She was left wondering what she had done to upset him.
Then it hit her—she had stood Kaiden up for their styling appointment the day before.
Unbelievably, it seemed he was holding a grudge about it!
“Could you tell me where Kaiden is? I can wait if he’s upied,” Ellie pleaded. Cecelia’s situation was urgent.
Bruce hesitated, then after a brief pause, he gave an address. “Heart Ind.”
Heart Ind, an artificial construct set amidst ake in Critport, was known for itsvish expenses. It boasted facilities for horse racing, golf, spas, discos, and more. The ind’s most notorious feature was its extravagant club, surpassing even Rich Bar in opulence and decadence. Guided by Bruce’s directions, Ellie located the VIP room.
