?Chapter 5:
Ellie’s cheeks flushed a deep red, her embarrassment unparalleled.
She had just revealed that… that she’d shared Kaiden’s bed.
Surely, he hadn’t heard her, right?
Ellie stood there, barely daring to breathe, her mind racing with thoughts of how to rify her words, yet fearing Kaiden’s reaction.
“Come here,” Kaiden instructed softly.
Ellie briefly thought he was addressing Erick and felt a momentary relief.
Thank god! She thought he was calling her!
But then, Kaiden’s voice came again. “Didn’t you say you shared my bed?”
He continued impatiently, “Come here, Ellie. Don’t make me repeat myself.”
His tone carried an undeniable authority.
Ellie’s face grew hotter, her heart racing with a mix of fear and mortification. He had heard her!
She looked like a deer caught in headlights, causing a flicker of something in Kaiden’s eyes.
However, his irritation at seeing her with Erick quickly overshadowed it.
Nervously, Ellie walked towards him, her fingers twisting together.
After all, she had done this to herself.
He had overheard her bragging about him. Truly, bad luck on her part.
“Mr. Thorpe, I…” Ellie began, but before she could finish, Kaiden’s hand was on her chin, tilting her face up to meet his steady gaze.
“If you want to share my bed,” he said, his fingertip tracing her chin in a slow, deliberate motion, “you’ll have to strip naked, you know.” His tone was deep and cold, ced with an allure that Ellie couldn’t ignore.
Her eyes widened in disbelief, and a blush spread across her cheeks. “You…”
Kaiden whispered in her ear, his voice low, meant only for her, “Mrs. Thorpe, do you enjoy seeing your ex-fiancé? Is that it?” The woman enjoyed making him a cuck!
Let your imagination soar with gα?ησν????s.?ο??
His gaze was icy, devoid of warmth.
Ellie felt a chill run through her, as if doused in icy water.
Erick was stunned.
He had never seen Kaiden with a woman, and yet… here he was, epting Ellie?
That couldn’t be right!
Erick couldn’t stand the thought of Ellie, a woman he considered his, being with Kaiden.
“Kaiden, you can’t seriously consider someone of Ellie’s status as your wife. Don’t you have standards? Or do you prefer leftovers?” Erick’s gaze over Ellie was critical. “Besides, Ellie’s as dull as theye. Like a dead fish in bed.” His insinuation was clear.
“Mr. Thorpe, I haven’t…” Ellie started, nervously clutching Kaiden’s clothes, but was cut off.
“Ellie!”
Demi, dressed in white and wearing high heels, approached in a huff.
She had followed Ellie, catching her in a meeting with Erick.
Demi couldn’t believe Ellie, now a married woman, was still entangled with Erick.
She clung to Erick’s arm, marking her territory.
“Erick, why with my sister? Ellie, you’re married. How can you meet Erick in secret? Betraying me is one thing, but betraying your husband?”
Her voice feigned concern, but her eyes betrayed her true intentions. Hearing Erick’s derogatoryment about Ellie, Demi concluded they must have had sex before.
This only intensified her jealousy.
Demi’s gaze then shifted to the man in the wheelchair, and she was struck by his attractiveness.
He was… so handsome!
More than Erick!
It was a pity, she thought, that he was disabled.
Her implication was clear: Ellie was here for Erick.
Erick, remaining silent, seemingly confirmed this narrative.
Ellie, under Kaiden’s skeptical gaze, knew her exnations would fall on deaf ears.
Sometimes, words could be a shield, but then… they could also be a weapon.
And then there was Demi, plicating things further.
“Fucking idiots,” Ellie muttered, barely audible.
But Kaiden, close by, caught the remark.
He lifted his head and nced at her.
It was unexpected. Ellie, known for her poise, would resort to suchnguage?
Taking a deep breath, Ellie adopted a different approach.
“Mr. Thorpe, your perception of me might be skewed.” She nced at Erick, then leaned towards Kaiden…
Kaiden’s eyes widened as she came closer, her scent enveloping him.
Her lips brushed the corner of his mouth.
It was a gentle kiss, as light as a feather caressing the face. However, it lingered, leaving a tingling sensation on his lips.
“I’m sorry!” she whispered.
It was practically written on her face: “You force me to do this!”
As Ellie kissed Kaiden, her mind was in turmoil, focusing on proving Erick wrong. She couldn’t bear to meet Kaiden’s gaze, unaware of the storm brewing in his eyes.
Bruce, witnessing the scene, was taken aback.
Was this… really happening?
Ellie just kissed Kaiden, huh?
Were women these days so brazen? Unafraid of death?
Erick’s shock was evident, his eyes wide. “You…”
He couldn’t believe Ellie, who had always kept her distance from him, had kissed Kaiden.
“Listen, Erick.” Ellie turned to him with a stern look. “Any opinions on my conservativeness or my demeanor in private are for my husband to judge. Whether I’m a ‘dead fish in bed,’ as you say, is something you’ll never know! You’re confusing me with Demi. You slept with her. If your memory’s failing, perhaps a doctor can help.”
Her message was clear: Go fix your issues.
Then Ellie turned to Demi, her gaze sharp. “Keep your man in check, both his mouth and his dick.”
Demi, eyeing Erick, wondered if he had been the one to pester Ellie, not the other way around, before casting a nce at the handsome man in the wheelchair.
Could he be… Ellie’s secret lover?
“Ellie!” Fury rose in Erick, unable to ept that he had intentionally sought Ellie, and how she had just humiliated him.
“You want another p?” Kaiden interjected, his tone sharp. Erick was stunned. Kaiden didn’t push Ellie away… but was also defending her?
Kaiden’s frosty gaze turned to Erick. “Mind your manners, Erick.
Respect for family is paramount in our family.”
The so-called family he was referring to was Ellie.
He was reminding Erick of the family hierarchy, where Ellie, as his aunt-inw, demanded respect.
“Sir, you might not know this, but this woman is married,” Demi interjected, not liking to see Erick chastised by Ellie’s defender. “I don’t mean to intrude, but it’s unfair for you to confront the Thorpe family’s heir for someone like her.”
