Cheating 28

The screen showed Preston and Summer passionately kissing in the underground garage.

    Preston’s face darkened.

Before they could finish their kiss and conversation, Preston shut down theputer.

“Sophia, did you put up that video?”

I nodded, curious to see how he’d spin this.

Preston frowned deeply. “I know you’re upset with me, but you could discuss it with me privately. Why humiliate me in front of all these important people?”

“Do you think anyone would believe this? The parking garage-a public ce-me openly making out with a female intern?”

    His words triggered whispered conversations.

“Ms. Sullivan acts like she’s over it, but she’s clearly still hung up on that AI assistant thing.”

“How could Ms. Sullivan resort to such childish, underhanded tactics…”

Hearing thesements, Summer, who’d been red-faced moments before, straightened up again.

“Ms. Sullivan, I’m still a college student! How can you nder my reputation without cause!”

    nder? Reputation?

I scoffed and mmed my prepared documents on the table.

Last night, after filming their intimate moment, I immediately found awyer to notarize the video, proving it was authentic footage.

All to prevent them from stubbornly denying everything.

“If the video’s fake, please, sue me for defamation! I, Sophia Sullivan, willpensate you with my entire fortune!”

Summer’s face paled as she bit her lip and looked at Preston.

Preston sighed helplessly, showing slight regret.

“Sophia, there must be some misunderstanding. I can exin everything slowly. With all these people here, I hope you’ll leave us both some dignity.”

Preston was definitely a seasoned businessman-he knew how to deflect.

Using “misunderstanding” to brush me off, then using “dignity” to pressure me.

But havinge this far, I absolutely wouldn’t give him an out!

I shook my head at him. “You don’t need to exin slowly-you need time to think up excuses. I don’t need that.”

Preston’s expression grew uglier. “Sophia, are you really going to burn bridges here today? We’ve been married seven years-we’re one unit now. When one prospers, both prosper. When one falls, both fall!”

“We’re supposed to spend our lives together. When problems arise, we solve the problems, not eliminate the people.”

Summer finally couldn’t hold back, rushing forward. “Preston, why are you reasoning with her? She’s obviously out to destroy us.”

“Just hurry up with the voting process. She already gave you her voting rights, so you’ll definitely be chairman. Then cancel all herpany privileges, and she can’t control you anymore!”

Everyone turned to stare at her in amazement.

    Amazed by her naivety.

I said calmly, “I did delegate my voting rights to him, but since I’m here in person, I can revoke that delegation anytime.”

“As for whether he can be chairman and kick me out… have you considered that I control 40% of the corporation’s shares? Who exactly is kicking out whom?”

Summer was stunned, mouth agape, unable to say another word.

Preston clenched his fists, looking at her with eyes that could shoot fire.

“In any case,” I announced loudly. “I move to suspend today’s meeting agenda and suggest everyone seriously consider Preston ckwell’s continued employment at my corporation!”

After unanimous shareholder agreement, the meeting was dismissed.

Everyone needed to consider whether to fire Preston and, ording topany bws, find a new chairman candidate.

Preston caught up with me in the hallway. “Sophia, let’s talk. After all our years together, you can’t just write me offpletely!”

He couldn’t leave me-or rather, he couldn’t leave my wealth and power.

I looked at him coldly. “The video was clear enough. You cheated. What’s left to discuss?” <fn11c5> Latest content published on find[?]ovel</fn11c5>

“I was drunk! I didn’t mean to-I thought that person was you.”

    His eyes were incredibly sincere.

    I just felt sick again.

After all this time to think, that was hisme excuse.

And he had the nerve to say it so righteously-what did he take me for?

I simply pulled out my phone and yed that video at full volume from start to finish.

His voice echoed through the entire hallway, saying he’d make me disappear.

Preston listened in stunned silence. “I said that? I don’t remember at all! Really!”

I looked steadily into his eyes. “I believe what I saw and heard. Preston, save your energy for worrying about your future livelihood.”

“Sophia!” Preston grabbed my hand desperately. “Give me one chance. If our baby in heaven saw us like this, he’d be heartbroken.”

Hearing this, rage exploded in me. I shook off his hand and pped him hard.

“You have no right to mention my child-you killed him! And you told Summer he wasn’t healthy. You deserve to die!”

Preston looked shocked, as ifpletely unable to understand my words.

    “Sophia, I didn’t…”

    Suddenly I felt deeply powerless.

Seven years of love, and it came down to wasting time listening to him lie after lie.

From his expression, lying had be second nature.

    But I only understood now.

At least I understood before it was toote.

    “Get away from me.”

I pushed him aside, strode into the elevator, and jabbed the close button to shut him out.

Only when the elevator reached the parking garage did my breathing steady and my thoughts clear.

Preston’s n to be chairman had failed this time.

But the shareholders wouldn’t necessarily agree to fire him.

In their eyes, as long as someone could manage thepany and create profits for shareholders, they were a qualified CEO.

As for the CEO’s personal morality, they could turn a blind eye.

In this uncertain situation, I had to act-give him a hard push.

I had to personally watch him fall off the cliff and shatter into pieces!
