The Amazing son in law Chapter 975

Charlie had never been known for his kindness.

He would only step in to help someone if he felt a sense of pity.

However, his assistance came with a stiption: the other person needed to recognize the difference between right and wrong.

If they couldn’t discern what was good for themselves, Charlie didn’t see why he should be subjected to their dismissive attitude, no matter how noble his intentions were.

Some individuals were so obstinate that perhaps the best lesson for them was to learn through their own hardships.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Ultimately, they made their own choices and would have to take responsibility for the consequences that followed.

With that in mind, Charlie swiftly redirected the conversation. He said, “If we’re going to discuss making money, it’s better to handle that in private. Right now, we’re here to treat Mrs. Lewis to dinner. We haven’t even ordered yet after sitting here for so long.”

Jeff immediately grinned and chimed in, “Absolutely! Let’s hand the menu to Mrs. Lewis so she can choose some dishes she enjoys!”

Mrs. Lewis quickly waved her hands, saying, “Oh no, that’s not necessary! I’ve never dined in such a fine ce before, so I wouldn’t know what to order. You young folks should pick the dishes.”

Taking the menu with a smile, Jeff replied, “Then I’ll take care of the ordering!”

He promptly called over the waiter, eximing, “Come on over! I’d like to ce our order.”

The waiter arrived, and Jeff wasted no time in cing his orders, strategically opting for all the priciest selections.

The first dish he chose was a premium abalone for everyone, which cost a staggering $1,888.00 per person.

William, upon catching sight of the menu, couldn’t help but exim, “Oh, Brother Jeff! This dish is way too expensive! Just this one dish alone will cost over twenty thousand dors! We… we can’t afford this!”

Jeff assured everyone that he would cover half the bill for the dinner. The remaining half would then be split among the rest, meaning everyone would still need to contribute, albeit a little less than if they were paying the full amount.

However, even with Jeff’s offer, the total cost was still overwhelming. The burden of the remaining half would still weigh heavily on everyone.

Jeff looked at William with disdain, saying, “No wonder your future mother-inw demands a hefty dowry. Just look at your reaction! You’re already flinching at the thought of a meal, and we’re just having dinner. Imagine if you were dining with her tonight—what would people think if you were too scared to even order?”

Feeling embarrassed and disheartened, William replied, “Brother Jeff, I don’t have as much money as you. To save on expenses, I’m living on about one hundred dors a week. I only drink cold water and eat steamed buns in the dormitory. I can’t even splurge on an electric kettle…”

Jeff retorted coldly, “No wonder you’re still struggling financially. How do you expect to make a living with that mindset? Who could possibly be poorer than you?”<fna3d2> Latest content published on FindN()vel</fna3d2>

After a brief pause, he continued, “What is money, anyway? You need to spend it for it to have any value. If it just sits in your wallet or is a figure in your bank ount, what good is it? Besides, I’ve already offered to help you make some money. If you can’t even manage to pay for this meal, then I’m sorry, but I can’t consider you a friend.”

    At this, William fell silent.

He hade to see Jeff as a benefactor and didn’t want to risk displeasing him.

Otherwise, he feared he might lose all hope for his future.

The others also sensed that Jeff was being overly extravagant with his ordering. However, after witnessing him chastise William, they felt too embarrassed to voice their concerns.

After all, Jeff was covering half of the dinner cost, and they would be splitting the rest among themselves. Admitting they couldn’t afford it would be a blow to their pride.

At that moment, Jeff instructed the waiter, “Let’s have a lobster weighing around five catties!”

The waiter nodded and replied, “Sir, our premium lobsters are priced at $688.00 per catty. Is that eptable?”
