Chapter 592

Anneliese let herself be dragged down into a crouch and shuffled forward a few steps before finally caving in.

"When we get to Jess'' ce, I''ll video call Jonathan so you can ask him yourself, okay?"

Clearly, Meatloaf trusted Jonathan more than her.

Whether Meatloaf really understood this time or just heard Jonathan''s name and got the idea, it worked.

Meatloaf wagged his tail and let go of Anneliese''s pants.

Anneliese was left speechless, but at least she finally managed to coax the dog out the door.

She dragged her suitcase and led the dog, feeling unreasonably frustrated and restless.

Suddenly, she felt like she really was at the bottom of the food chain, forced to be everyone''s emotional support.

Her grandma needed her tofort her, Jonathan needed her to reassure him, and now even Meatloaf had to be cajoled.

But who''s going to cheer me up?

Anneliese stepped out of the elevator, only to spot a familiar face heading toward her.

    It was Zaxton.

"Mrs. Fullbuster, Mr. Fullbuster sent me to help you move. I''ll take care of the luggage. Just keep an eye on Meatloaf."

Zaxton stepped up and took both heavy suitcases from her hands.

    "How did he know?"

Anneliese was genuinely surprised. She hadn''t told Jonathan she was moving out of Maple Bay.

So how did Jonathan know, and why did he send Zaxton to wait for her?

Zaxton hurried to exin, "Mrs. Fullbuster, don''t get the wrong idea. Since you didn''t like me following you, Mr. Fullbuster had already told me to go home. But after you sent Dr. Landis and the others away this morning, she told Mr. Fullbuster that your grandma had gone back to the hospital.

"That''s when Mr. Fullbuster figured your grandma must have learned the apartment belonged to him. Since she wouldn''t want to stay here anymore, she''d definitely want you to move too, so he told me to wait here and give you a hand if you moved."

Anneliese didn''t reply for a moment, but all her frustration faded away.

She felt a little pathetic-Jonathan didn''t even have to show up in person, and she was already in a better mood.

Once in the car, Meatloaf seemed to catch Jonathan''s scent and got all excited, thumping his paws on Anneliese''s leg as if urging her to start a video call.

Anneliese took out her phone and dialed Jonathan.

    He answered almost instantly.

Anneliese was caught off guard. She stared for a second, and Jonathan smiled, "What''s with that face? Did you get so into character that you your husband

    Before she

    should respond, Meatloaf

shoved his head into the frame, bumping Anneliese aside, and panted happily at the screen.

Jonathan blinked, and suddenly his beautiful wife was gone-reced by a big, silly

    dog.

He frowned, raising his voice, "Meatloaf, down! You''re blocking my wife!"

    Meatloaf whimpered, feeling wronged.

Jonathan was so harsh. She was heartbroken.

She had lost all love for him!

But dogs are born to obey, so Meatloaf slumped down onto the carpet.

Anneliese saw the dog hanging her head and shot Jonathan a reproachful look.

"You''re too rough on Meatloaf. She wouldn''t evene out earlier, and only agreed when I said we were going to see you."

Jonathan lifted his brows. "Alright, I hear you. I apologize to Meatloaf, officially." Anneliese bent down and patted Meatloaf''s head. "Did you hear that, Meatloaf?" She even aimed the phone at the dog, but Meatloaf just twisted around andy down with her back to the camera.

Anneliese finally turned the camera back to herself. "She''s mad at you."

Jonathan grinned. "Please, Mrs. Fullbuster, put in a good word for me."

Noticing his background was clearly the office, Anneliese was surprised.

"You''re at work? Aren''t you going back to Halden?"

The holidays weren''t even over, and the CEO was already back at thepany- she almost pitied the staff at AeroAir.

Jonathan didn''t want to work overtime either, but he couldn''t stand being alone in that big, empty vi at the Banyans.

His grandma had already told him she''d bought a ticket to Oceanton and was flying

    in soon.

So he had no ns to go back to Halden-since he couldn''t be with his sweet wife, the holidays lost their charm.

He''d gotten plenty of invitations, but none interested him.

He truly had no idea what else to do but work.

"Oh, I already booked a flight for Carter. He''s on his way to Oceanton, and he will check on your grandma at the hospital when hends. Don''t worry too much."
