Chapter 581

Before Jonathan arrived, Zacharias didn''t know who brought him here.

When Jonathan walked in, Zacharias'' eyes narrowed he wasn''t really surprised.

He smirked. "All this fuss for nothing, Mr. Fullbuster? Let me guess... Anne found out the truth and dumped you?"

Now Jonathan''s anger and desperation were in to see.

It was clear-Anneliese didn''t want him anymore.

Zacharias'' eyes lit up. If Anneliese refused Jonathan, maybe I still had a chance, right?

The only issue was that she was pregnant with his child, which gave him an edge. But that didn''t matter. Pregnant women were vulnerable and emotional.

If I showed her I didn''t care and treated her well, maybe I could win her over.

After all, Jonathan had used her vulnerability to get close to her before.

Jonathan nced at Zacharias and instantly knew what he was thinking.

The man snorted, took off his watch, tossed it onto the coffee table, and, without another word, grabbed Zacharias by the cor, lifted him off the couch, and punched him squarely in the face.

    Bang!

    It was a ruthless punch.

Zacharias had spent the past six months in a haze—drinking, barely eating, and constantly cleaning up after his unstable mother and sister.

He''d lost a lot of weight. Jonathan''s punch sent him rolling off the couch, tumbling twice beforending face down on the floor.

He tried to get up, but a heavy force pressed down on his shoulders.

A momentter, Zacharias'' face was mmed into the floor.

He felt his spine might snap.

    "John... mmph..."

Pain filled his vision; he couldn''t even curse.

Jonathan let up, giving Zacharias a moment to catch his breath. Zacharias rolled

over, sat up, clutched his shoulder, and red at Jonathan with hatred.

His face twisted, but he managed grim smile. "Anneliese doesn''t want you anymore. Isn''t that your faur? Why hit me? You lied to her first-you can''t me it all on me."

"Shouldn''t you admit your own faults? Jonathan, you''re such a hypocrite!"

Zacharias remembered how Jonathan once mocked him for losing Anneliese, which gave Jonathan a chance to step in.

The pain in his body was nothingpared to that memory.

He wanted Jonathan to feel the same rage and regret he did now, and to taste the suffering he had endured.

But to his disappointment, Jonathan''s gaze was icy and calm, showing no sign of pain.

It made Zacharias, shouting and iling, seem like a lunatic.

As Zacharias'' smug smile faded, Jonathan stepped onto the couch and sat down.

He picked up his watch from the coffee table, put it on slowly, then sneered at Zacharias.

"Disappointed? My wife and I have a bond that nothing can break. No one cane between us."

    "Impossible! That can''t be true!"

Zacharias clenched his fists, dread filling his chest.

He''d provoked Jonathan, risking a beating, but this wasn''t the oue he wanted.

    "You''re delusional. I know

Anneliese her foster parents and grandmother matter more to her than anyone or anything else! She knows you made her lose her foster parents how could she feel

nothing? She''d never ept being with someone responsible for their deaths!"

Anneliese grew up with Zacharias. He knew exactly how she felt about her family and grandmother.

She always listened to her grandmother.

When the Whites wanted her back Anneliese didn''t want to return. Her grandmother persuaded her, saying her foster parents always hoped she''d find her real parents one day.

She also said she was too old to help Anneliese and didn''t want her to be alone, so she urged her to return to the Whites.

When Anneliese went back, the White family treated her badly. She nned to buy a house in Oceaton, so her grandmother could live there with her.
