?Chapter 304:
She had never set foot on Nawrin University’s campus, so the thought of taking Kristopher inside filled her with dread. Realizing her predicament, she managed a strained smile.
“I’m somewhat of a celebrity now. Stepping onto the campus would only stir up a scene. It’s not a good idea.”
Kristopher raised an eyebrow, seemingly convinced. “That makes sense.”
The online chatter about her was indeed less than ttering, and university students were particrly eager to follow inte trends. Soon, their coffees arrived.
As Cathy took her first sip, she discreetly sent a message on her phone. Momentster, the cafe door swung open.
Jessa entered, apanied by a male university student. They hurried inside, and Jessa spoke quickly, “Cathy, we’ve got a lead! This student ims that one of his ssmates vanished after leaving the dormitory in the middle of the night. He’s still missing!”
Kristopher leaned against the booth in the coffee shop, epting the iced Americano that was just served. He cast an indifferent nce at the male college student trailing behind Jessa. He remembered that Fred was a student in the Department of Physical Education at Nawrin University. Yet the man trailing Jessa seemed far from a typical athlete. He was thin, pale, and appeared worn out, unlike Fred. The man hardly looked like someone skilled in sports.
“Really?” Cathy stood up abruptly as Jessa approached with the man, feigning agitation. “His ssmate disappearedst night and still hasn’t been found?”
“Yes.” Jessa nodded, her actions theatrical in sync with Cathy. “I talked to this student. He told me his ssmate met a recently divorced woman who invited him outst night for car sex. But he’s unreachable today. This student also saw the news online and suspected the deceased might be his ssmate, so he reached out to us…”
“Yes,” the man behind Jessa quickly agreed, his voice soft and hoarse as if he had been sick for a long time. Hecked the vitality typical of a young man. “Fred left after midnight. We feared something might happen to him. I saw the news early this morning about a man and woman who died in a car ident on the beach. We didn’t connect it with Fred until we couldn’t reach him today. Now, we’re worried…”<fnbebf> Find the newest release on find{n}ovel</fnbebf>
Cathy, looking thoughtful, was taken aback. “Is your ssmate named Fred Schmidt? That name…” She paused, turning to Kristopher. “Kristopher, doesn’t that name sound familiar?”

Kristopher held his iced Americano, sipping it as he watched the others act. When Cathy questioned him about the name, he nodded, ying along smoothly. “It does sound familiar. Fred Schmidt was quite close to Belinda.”
Cathy’s eyes widened in shock. “That’s him. If the man who disappearedst night was Fred, then who was the woman? A recently divorced woman…” As she spoke, her eyes widened again, and she instinctively covered her mouth. “Could it be… Miss Nelson?”
“No way,” Jessa chimed in quickly, supporting Cathy. “Miss Nelson just divorced Mr. Cox, but she’s still very attached to him. How could—”
The student interrupted the two women. “I’ve seen the woman with Fred. Do you have a photo of Miss Nelson? I would recognize her immediately.”
“Yes, I’ve got one,” Jessa said, pulling out her phone and quickly finding a photo. “See if it’s her.”
