?Chapter 298:
As Marc watched her walk away, his admiration for her grew. He felt that Belinda was trulymendable and that Kristopher had surely erred in choosing to divorce her for Cathy.
Beside Marc, Kristopher noticed his lingering gaze on Belinda and felt a chill of disapproval.
Eventually, he reached his limit and sharply tapped Marc’s head.
Marc was jolted back to the moment and turned to Kristopher reflexively. “Mr. Cox…”
“Can’t you get the noodles yourself if you’re still hungry?” Kristopher’s gaze was icy as he confronted Marc. “What gives you the right tomand her?”
Marc was shocked.
He had merely asked Belinda for another serving of noodles. Did it really warrant such a reaction?
In the past, when Belinda was still married to Kristopher, she had often helped Marc without any issue. Back then, Kristopher just observed quietly, never reacting the way he did now.
Why hadn’t it bothered Kristopher before?
Now that he was separated from Belinda, it seemed as if Kristopher was interpreting Marc’s simple request as an overstep.
“Marc and I are just friends,” Belinda interjected before Marc could even respond. She ced a freshly filled bowl in front of him, her voice firm yet gentle. “I’m helping because he’s my friend, not because he’smanding me. Marc and I are on equal ground.”
After stating this, her tone softened as she smiled at Marc. “Enjoy your meal. There’s plenty more if you’re still hungry.”
Gratefully, Marc responded, “Thank you, Miss Nelson.”
Belinda’s expression softened further, and she suggested, “You don’t need to be so formal with me. You can call me Belinda, just like my other friends do.”

Marc’s eyes lit up at the offer.
Meanwhile, Kristopher’s gaze hardened, the temperature beside him dropping noticeably.
Marc looked up, offering a stiff smile. “Okay… Belinda.”
Belinda returned the smile, her eyes glinting with a hint of defiance as she nced at Kristopher before turning to head back to the kitchen. Kristopher’s gaze followed her, his features tightening, and the air around him grew even colder.
Caught in the middle of their silent battle, Marc found himself grappling with his emotions. The once appealing noodles now seemed unappetizing.<fn3c7d> Fresh chapters posted on Find~Novel</fn3c7d>
He cleared his throat slightly, hoping to shift the subject. “Mr. Cox…” With a sideways nce, he asked, “Did Miss Miller reach out to exinst night’s incident at the studio?”
Kristopher turned away from watching Belinda heat his noodles in the kitchen. He simply said, “No.”
He then frowned, adding with a note of sarcasm, “Cathy expressed deep sympathy after hearing about the deathst night. She asked me to identify the deceased and contact their family quickly so they can rest in peace.”
Marc looked at Kristopher with wide-open eyes, full of surprise. “Miss Miller… She is so kind.”
