?Chapter 279:
Kristopher, standing before him, had already removed his shirt and was struggling with his belt. The dim lighting in the storage room seemed to be making it harder for him. He looked towards Belinda and said, “Help me.”
Without hesitation, Belinda moved closer, cing his jacket and shirt on a nearby table, and bent down to assist with his belt. She handled the task with practiced ease.
Meanwhile, Fred, now undressing, watched as her back turned to him, a knot forming in his stomach. Just moments before, when Fred had been about to remove his shirt, he noticed Belinda’s eyes quickly shift away. She couldn’t bear to watch him undress, yet she helped Kristopher with something as personal as his belt without a second thought.
Did this mean Kristopher still held a special ce in her heart, even after their divorce?
“All done.”
Belinda quickly unfastened the belt, then moved to stand behind Kristopher, turning her back to both men, silently listening for any sounds from outside.
Kristopher smoothly finished dressing in Fred’s clothes.
As the two menpleted their disguises, the man in ck who had gone to get the keys returned.
“You guessed right. He could really be hiding here!”
The man in ck returned, panting. “We couldn’t find him downstairs, and the old administrator at the dormitory mentioned that several student union members have keys to this storage room. That must include Fred!”
Realizing this, the man guarding the door pped his thigh in frustration and said, “No wonder we haven’t found him all this time!” He grabbed the keys and began unlocking the door.
Inside, Kristopher, now dressed in Fred’s blue pajamas, grasped Belinda’s hand and whispered, “As soon as we go out, we’ll run.”
Tense, Belinda instinctively tightened her grip on his hand and said, “I understand.”

Their n depended on luring all the men in ck away to ensure Fred’s safe escape. Moreover, even if she and Kristopher were caught, it wouldn’t pose a major problem since they weren’t the primary targets of the men in ck, who would likely be lenient with them.
As the click of the unlocking door sounded, the door swung open. The bright corridor light momentarily blinded Belinda, making it difficult for her to see. Before she could adjust, Kristopher was already pulling her into the hallway, sprinting forward.
“Blue pajamas, denim jacket, white slippers — he’s really hiding here!” One of the men in ck spotted Kristopher’s clothes and shouted out. The men in ck chased after them, coordinating with others to try to encircle them.
Kristopher held Belinda’s hand tightly.
They dashed down the stairwell of the male dormitory, descending floor by floor, breaking past the men in ck at the exit, and continuing their run across the university campus.
The men in ck werepletely distracted, following and shouting as they ran.
As Kristopher led the way, Belinda stole a quick nce over her shoulder at their pursuers.
