?Chapter 167:
At Peace Hospital, Kristopher posed a gentle question as he sat beside the bed, cradling a bowl of freshly made oatmeal. “What would you like to doter?” He blew softly on the spoonful of oatmeal, casting a tender look at Cathy, who was sitting up weakly against the headboard.
Pale and fragile, Cathy’s voice was barely a whisper. “I’d like to go for a walk, breathe some fresh air.” She opened her mouth for a spoonful of oatmeal he offered.
The warmth made her wince slightly, her delicate eyebrowsing together. “It’s hot.”
“Is it?” Kristopher frowned, testing the oatmeal on the back of his hand. “It’s not hot.”
Cathy pouted yfully. “But it feels hot in my mouth. Try it, and you’ll see.”
Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she watched Kristopher. Realizing her yful intent, Kristopher gave a helpless smile and lightly tapped her forehead. “Stop being silly.”
Their rtionship had evolved beyond that of a romantic couple. Given the recent wave of online criticism about their closeness, such yful exchanges, reminiscent of an indirect kiss, felt somewhat out of ce. Noticing Kristopher’s reluctance to y along, Cathy’s expression turned sour. “I was only trying to cheer you up with a joke. Why so grim, Kristopher?”
With a heavy sigh, Kristopher bit back the words he wanted to say, mindful of her condition. He simply resumed his earlier task. “Eat.”
“Kristopher!” Just then, the door flew open.
Allen rushed in, bringing a chill with him as he announced, “There’s been an incident!” He paused, seeing Kristopher spooning oatmeal into Cathy’s mouth, and stopped dead.
Kristopher’s brows knit together. “What is it?”

Clearly annoyed, Cathy scolded, “Allen, really, how old are you? Must you always be so impulsive? Bursting in here so early, this had better be urgent!”
Regaining hisposure, Allen took a deep breath. “Kristopher, your grandfather was watching the news online. He’s had another heart attack. He’s back in the ICU. The doctors knew you were in the hospital, so they sent me to find you right away.”
Kristopher’s gaze turned steely. “What exactly happened?” Had Anthony not seen the news the day before, settling his nerves after the shock? Kristopher had even brought Belinda alongst night to soothe Anthony. Why?
“Kristopher, haven’t you checked thetest news online?” Allen paused, then quickly retrieved his phone. “Take a look!”<fn5d3a> N?w ?ovel chapt?rs are published on </fn5d3a>
Kristopher scowled and peered at the screen, his eyes widening in shock. “How is this possible…”
Someone had leaked Belinda’s abortion records!
Kristopher had identally discovered the truth about her abortion. He had also looked into why Belinda had opted for the abortion. The child had been stillborn, leading Belinda to make the heart-wrenching choice to end the pregnancy. Kristopher was to me for this.
He had been unaware of her pregnancy in time and had failed to care for her adequately. His neglect was at fault. Instead of apologizing to her directly, he chose to ask Rosie to look after Belinda because of his pride. But Rosie had ignored his request.
