?Chapter 147:
“Wrong to use her?”
Fred, who had been trailing behind Belinda, scoffed and pulled out his phone to disy a news article. “Mr. Cox, as the CEO of Cox Group, you wield immense power and resources, surely enough to thoroughly investigate my background in no time. So, you must realize, even more than I do, that the rapid spread of this incident online in just ten minutes suggests someone is orchestrating it. And your Miss Miller, being a major celebrity familiar with trending news and how to manipte media, fits the profile.”
He looked up to meet Kristopher’s gaze, which was sharp and dark. “Do you genuinely believe we are wrongly using her?”
Kristopher’s eyes narrowed slightly. He looked at Fred, his voiceced with frosty disdain. “Who empowered you to talk to me like this?”
Kristopher had already been uneasy when seeing that Fred had carried Belinda away. He had initially let it slide since Fred had stepped in to defuse the tension between Belinda and Cathy. Yet here was Fred, boldly speaking up in such a forward manner. Belinda was his wife; her heated words might pass without offense. But who did Fred think he was?
Kristopher’s gaze hardened as he gave Fred a dismissive look before turning to Belinda with a slight sneer. “You enlisted someone this foolish to stand up for you. Do you think you can always protect him?”
Belinda’s face drained of color. She instinctively moved to block Fred from Kristopher’s gaze. “He’s just concerned.”
“Does he have any reason to be?” Kristopher scoffed, nced at the news on his phone, and then tucked it away. “I’ll take care of the situation online, so it doesn’t affect you.” With that, he stared intensely at Belinda and added, “I’ll also figure out who’s really behind this. Cathy has nothing to do with this; don’t drag her into it.”
Seeing him defend Cathy, Belinda couldn’t help but let out a bitterugh. When she admired Kristopher, she had viewed him as the most capable and intelligent man alive.

Now, seeing him deceived by Cathy, Belinda wasing to her senses. She had given him too much credit. At his core, Kristopher was just another ordinary man. Every word Cathy spoke was aw to him. She had been foolish, sacrificing five of her best years and risking her life for such a man.
“Belinda.”
At that moment, Fred’s low voice reached her ears. “Remember the photos.”
Belinda snapped back to reality. Drawing a deep breath, she fixed Kristopher with an icy stare. “When you say not to drag her into this, are you asking me not to upload our marriage certificate online and reveal her as the other woman?”
Kristopher’s expression darkened, but he remained silent. Sitting in the wheelchair, Cathy clenched her fists. “Miss Nelson, no one knows better than you who the real other woman is between us! If you dare to upload that marriage certificate online, I’ll let everyone know how you stole Kristopher from me and forced him into marriage three years ago!”
Belinda hadn’t anticipated that Cathy would raise this point.
“Fine,” Belinda retorted, her eyebrow arched, giving Cathy a scornful look. “You im I destroyed your rtionship three years ago. Yet, after Mr. Cox’s car ident left himatose, you didn’t spare him a nce and fled the country overnight. I’d be interested to hear your exnation for leaving then, Miss Miller.”
At Belinda’s usation, Cathy’s face flushed crimson. She pointed a shaking finger at Belinda, too enraged to speak clearly.<fne894> Checktest chapters at find~novel</fne894>
“You… you!”
“Cathy.”
