Chapter 124

    ?Chapter 124:

Anthony was already seething over Cathy’s actions that had harmed Belinda. When he saw Kristopher burst in and begin to forcefully take Belinda away, he couldn’t contain his anger. “You brat, release her!” he shouted.

Kristopher, however, seemedpletely oblivious to Anthony’s demand. His grip on Belinda’s wrist was unyielding, tightening with enough force that it seemed he might break it.

Belinda had already been weakened from her illness and a recent miscarriage. She looked so fragile that a mere gust of wind might topple her, pletely powerless against Kristopher’s strength. She was dragged toward the exit, her legs scrambling to keep pace and nearly copsing several times.

Kristopher was focused solely on getting her outside and ignored her struggles and difort. “Cathy has been in turmoil since your confrontation, and her condition has worsened dramatically! You’reing to the hospital with me this instant, and you’re going to apologize to her!”

    “Kristopher!”

Anthony yelled, his voice thick with fury as he watched Belinda being treated like an object. Clutching his chest, he managed to bellow, “Release Belinda now!”

Kristopher continued unfazed, pulling Belinda toward the exit.

Just as they were about to leave the vi, Allen noticed Belinda’s distress and intervened. He stepped in front of Kristopher with his arms wide open. “Belinda has a leg injury. If you keep pulling her like this, she might not even survive the trip to the hospital!”

Kristopher finally stopped, sneering as he looked back at Belinda dismissively. “What a drama queen.”

As they stopped, Anthony hobbled over using his cane and pulled Belinda’s hand free from Kristopher. “She’s already been hurt by Cathy! How can you continue to mistreat her like this?”

    “Is that so?”

Kristopher retorted coldly, ncing at the old man with a sneer. “Did Belinda tell you that Cathy hurt her?”

“I did it!” After observing the entire scene, Renee paused to take a deep breath. Then, she moved closer. Despite Belinda’s objections, she carefully lifted the leg of Belinda’s pants to show the injury.

Several dark bruises marred Belinda’s slender, fair legs, resembling grotesque scars sprawled across her skin.

“You im she’s merely pretending to be pitiful. Could someone really fake these injuries?” Renee asked.

She then turned her gaze sharply toward Kristopher. “You surely haven’t forgotten what Cathy did to her earlier today, have you?”<fn8ade> Readplete version only at find[f]ovel</fn8ade>

Kristopher found himself at a loss for words.

He gazed at the bruises on Belinda’s legs in disbelief. “What the…? Did all of these happen this morning?”

That morning, Kristopher had a vivid memory of watching Belinda fall down the stairs without crying out in pain, groaning, or showing any signs of distress. She had even calmly taken the cat carrier Marc had brought over and quickly departed with Fluffy. He had assumed that she had not been injured at all. However, he waspletely mistaken.

    “And look here.”

Renee’s expression darkened as she carefully lifted Belinda’s shirt to reveal a bruise on her abdomen. The bruise was so severe that the underlying blood vessels were visible. “Miss Miller inflicted this just a moment ago with a kick. You remember seeing this, don’t you?”

Kristopher hesitated, then tried to rify to Renee, “Just now, Cathy didn’t actually kick her. It was merely an idental bump.”

She stared daggers at Kristopher and stated, “An idental bump wouldn’t leave such a distinct bruise. This type of injury clearly results from a forceful kick delivered by pointed high heels. Think about it! What was Miss Miller wearing on her feet today? Weren’t they pointed high heels?”
