Chapter 110

    ?Chapter 110:

Hearing that, Kristopher raised his eyebrows. “When you moved in… didn’t you see Fluffy?”

Cathy, taken aback, replied, “That cat… is really here?”

Noticing her shock, Kristopher’s expression hardened. He bypassed her and ascended the stairs quickly, with Belinda trailing behind. Cathy left the spat on the counter and hurried after him.

“Kristopher, have you had anything to eat yet? I’m stewing meat in the pot. Would you care for some?”

Meanwhile, Belinda scanned the room anxiously for Fluffy. She had spent three years living in this vi. Once, she had known it better than anyone else.

Now, with the pink decorations and furnishings Cathy favored, the ce felt alien and somewhat suffocating to her.

Even Kristopher’s study, once a ce of untouched order, was now awash in pink.

Back when Belinda and Kristopher were together, he strictly forbade her from altering anything in his study, iming that the chaos of rearranged items made important things hard to find.

Thus, whenever she entered to clean, Belinda moved carefully, fearing that any misced item might displease Kristopher, who treated her like an outsider.

But now, after her departure, Kristopher had let another woman not only move in but also transform his sacred space.

It was clear that, in Kristopher’s view, she was just a visitor, unlike Cathy.

With this realization, Belinda inhaled deeply, pushing down the rising tide of emotions. She began calling out for Fluffy with renewed vigor. She reminded herself that this was no longer her home. Who Kristopher chose to share it with and how it was decorated were no longer her concerns.

She swore that once she found Fluffy, she would never return.

However, Fluffy was nowhere to be seen.

After several thorough searches of the vi, Belinda’s hope began to wane. Taking another deep breath, she walked toward Kristopher and asked seriously, “Are you absolutely sure Fluffy is here?”

“There’s no reason for me to lie,” Kristopher responded, his brow furrowed.

He recalled the night he took Fluffy with him; the cat had been a bit grubby. He had intended to take Fluffy for a cleaning at the pet hospital but found that all the clinics were closed at that hour.

At that time, his assistant Marc, who had experience with cats, suggested that Fluffy had previously thrived at the Swan Lake vi. He advised that it would be best to bring Fluffy back here. So, Kristopher had brought the cat to the vi overnight.

He vividly remembered arriving with Fluffy in his arms; as soon as he opened the door, the cat darted into the vi and began frolicking in the living room, visibly delighted.

“Then where is my Fluffy?” Belinda’s voice rose, tinged with desperation.

The more adamant Kristopher became, the greater Belinda’s frustration.

She had been searching for Fluffy all night, and although she had finally uncovered clues that led to Kristopher taking the cat, Fluffy was nowhere to be found!

“Why are you looking at Kristopher like that, as if he’s done something wrong?” Cathy’s patience wore thin. She crossed her arms and scoffed. “Wasn’t that cat more important to you than anything else? How could you let it disappear? I’ve been here sincest night, and I haven’t seen your cat anywhere!”

“Cathy!” Kristopher intervened in a stern voice, aware of how significant Fluffy was to Belinda. “That’s enough.”

With a pout, Cathy turned and walked downstairs. “Fine, take your time. I’ll be in the kitchen cooking. I’m still stewing meat in the pot.”

A chill ran through Belinda at those words. A dreadful thought shed through her mind…

In the next moment, she rushed to Cathy and blocked her path. “You’re stewing meat in the pot? What kind of meat is it?”

Cathy paused, then realized why Belinda was so rmed. A mischievous smile yed on her lips as she teased, “Guess. Is it cat meat?”
