?Chapter 95:
“Miss Miller, are you suggesting that I’m feigning illness?” Belinda narrowed her eyes.
“Or perhaps something else?” Cathy sneered. “It’smon knowledge that Peace Hospital is the top facility in Nawrin for tacklingplex ailments. Most whoe here have found no relief elsewhere. However…” Pausing, Cathy quickly scanned Belinda and added with emphasis, “There are a few, though, whoe here under false pretenses.”
“In light of that, what about you, Miss Miller?” Belinda shot back with a quick nce. “Are you seriously ill, or just putting on an act?”
Her challenge drained the color from Cathy’s face.
Lips trembling, Cathy retreated a few steps and turned to Kristopher with a look of hurt, silently pleading for his support.
“Belinda,” Kristopher interjected, his brow creased with concern. “That’s enough! We’re here because Cathy genuinely feels unwell. What’s the need to dig deeper?”
Belinda, arms folded defiantly, scoffed. “She started with the probing questions. Have you forgotten already? Do you need me to jog your memory about who used me of faking my illness?”
Kristopher’s brows knit together as he challenged her. “Was she wrong to ask? You’re healthy, yet here you are. Are you faking illness?”
Raising her eyebrows, a self-deprecating smile yed across Belinda’s lips. “Yes, I’m perfectly healthy.”
She clung to the hope that Kristopher’s usation was correct.
“So you’re pretending to be sick to avoid finalizing our divorce?” Kristopher’s stare was piercing as he sneered. “I really thought you meant it this time. If you didn’t want a divorce, why bring it up? What’s your n now?”

By now, everyone in the Cox family circle, even his grandfather, knew about the impending divorce and hadn’t intervened.
After this, they wouldn’t pay any attention to Belinda anymore.
“Divorce, of course,” she retorted sharply. “I wasn’t at the court this morning because I had a severe stomachache. My friend was worried and rushed me to the hospital. The doctor won’t let me leave yet, so I couldn’t go to the…”
“Divorce, of course,” she retorted sharply. “I wasn’t at the court this morning because I had a severe stomachache. My friend was worried and rushed me to the hospital. The doctor won’t let me leave yet, so I couldn’t go to the court this morning.” She lifted her gaze to meet Kristopher’s. “I want the divorce. I’m free all next week. Pick a time, and I’ll be there.”
The smugness in Kristopher’s eyes abruptly turned cold.
“You have a stomachache?” Cathy asked with a chuckle, hinting at mischief. “Did you get it on purpose to avoid today? What will your excuse be next time?”
Fred, who had been quietly standing behind Belinda, finally reached his breaking point at Cathy’s provoking tone. “Could you please stop being so harsh?” he interjected, his voice edged with frustration. “What are you trying to imply? If she truly doesn’t want a divorce, there are countless ways to avoid it. She won’t even agree to sign the divorce papers! Why would she inflict pain on herself just to avoid a divorce?”
He had never nned to involve himself in Belinda’s personal matters. He had only met her ex-husband, a man whose cold, arrogant demeanor made Fred feel naive and inexperienced. Yet, Cathy’s words struck a nerve, and he couldn’t hold back.
“It’s you?” Kristopher blurted out, recognizing Fred the moment he finished speaking. “The guy from the bar?”
He sneered as he nced down at Belinda with contempt. “I thought Darren was all you needed. Another one here too? You’re difficult to please, Belinda.”
