Chapter 77

    ?Chapter 77:

Hoping not to rm Madisyn, Belinda took some medication in the restroom, waiting until the difort in her stomach eased a bit before heading back to their table.

“You were gone for a while. What happened?” Madisyn inquired, her expression etched with concern as she peered at Belinda. “Is it your stomach again? Do we need to get you to a hospital, or maybe find a different ce to eat?”

Belinda caught sight of Madisyn, who was diving enthusiastically into her spicy meal and sweating slightly. Shaking her head gently, she replied, “Keep eating. I’ll pick up somethingter on.”

    With her condition, food choice hardly mattered, and she didn’t want to dampen Madisyn’s spirits.<fnd9a1> ??? ????? ???????s ??? ?????s??? ?? find(?)ovel</fnd9a1>

A hint of guilt crossed Madisyn’s face. “I’m sorry, Belinda. I forgot about your stomach issues… I just thought we could—”

“Hey, just enjoy your meal,” Belinda cut in, her voice light with amusement. “Since when did you be so mushy?”

Madisyn rolled her eyes, a yful pout forming. “I’m just concerned, that’s all.”

She resumed eating, then added, “Alright, we’ll swing by and get you some medicine afterward.”

As Belinda sipped her tea, a smile graced her lips while she watched Madisyn tackle her food.

Her mind wandered to the days when she, Madisyn, and Joyce used to hang out andugh together.

They were as close as sisters back then.

But everything changed five years ago after Joyce’s ident, and now her own health was declining.

In a few months, Madisyn could be on her own.

This somber thought made Belinda stare at Madisyn with a mncholy gaze. “Madisyn.”

Madisyn looked up, a mix of confusion and concern in her eyes. “What’s on your mind?”

Seeing Madisyn brimming with vitality, Belinda found herself unable to voice her sorrows.

Instead, she mustered a smile and offered a napkin, saying, “You’ve got a bit of food on your face.”

Madisyn casually set the napkin aside, replying, “I’ll clean up when I’m finished. Let’s not waste a good napkin now!”

Belinda chuckled. Just as she was about to respond, a sweet and familiar voice called out from a distance, “Miss Nelson, Miss Thomas, what a surprise to see you here.”

Recognizing the voice immediately, Belinda looked up toward its source.

There was Cathy, d in white, delicately linked arm-in-arm with Kristopher, offering them a sly smile.

    Belinda arched an eyebrow.

It seemed Helen had not taken kindly to being ignored and had decided to call them over.

However… Cathy looked radiant and healthy, hardly the image of someone who had been rushed to Peace Hospital just hours earlier.

Catching Belinda’s gaze, Kristopher’s expression hardened. “Your gum is bleeding. Are you sure you should be eating something as spicy as hotpot?”

Madisyn scowled, grabbed another napkin, and wiped her mouth defiantly. “We’ll eat what we please. It’s really none of your business.”

Kristopher’s gaze lingered coldly on Belinda. “Are you trying to make yourself sicker?”

He knew well enough about her recent miscarriage and this morning’s gum bleeding.

Eating spicy food now—was she even taking care of herself?

Belinda lowered her gaze, picked up a piece of meat, and feigned interest in her meal. “Mr. Cox, are you concerned about me? There you stand, holding onto your new love, yet worrying over your ex-wife. Doesn’t that make Miss Miller jealous?”
