?Chapter 70:
Outside the race track, at the hospital.
Following a battery of tests, it wasn’t until the doctors confirmed that Belinda only had a minor bruise on her forehead that Madisyn finally allowed herself to rx. She let out a deep breath. “You nearly gave me a heart attack!”
As she spoke, Madisyn wrapped her arms around Belinda in a remorseful embrace. “I had no idea she’d be so vicious, especially not at the racetrack. If I’d known, I never would have let youpete against her. Not for five billion, and certainly not for 500 million!”
Tears began to well up in Madisyn’s eyes. “This is all my fault, Belinda! You and Joyce are my only real friends. With Joyce having been gone for years, I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you too.”
Belinda returned the hug with equal intensity, a bitterness swelling within her.
This was only a minor incident, and yet Madisyn was so distraught. If she ever discovered that Belinda had less than three months left, it would shatter her.
Belinda wiped away a tear, stifled her feelings, and managed a forced smile. “Don’t worry. It was just a minor ident. Nothing could happen to me from that.”<fn6db2> For original chapters go to Find_Novel(.</fn6db2>
“A minor ident?”
Madisyn’s voice rose with her temper.
She let go of Belinda and balled her hands into fists, her anger palpable. “I had a clear view from the front row. That bitch elerated right into your car when you slowed down! Had she been any less reckless, you might’ve been thrown from the vehicle!”
The more she spoke, the fiercer Madisyn’s anger grew. She clenched her teeth and dered, “You’re so lucky that you weren’t seriously injured today. If you had been, I wouldn’t have let her off so easily!”
“So, we just let her off because Belinda wasn’t injured?”

Allen interjected from the doorway, his eyes narrowing, a chill flickering across them. “What Cathy did sounds like she was either causing a racetrack ident on purpose or attempting murder. Are we supposed to let her off the hook just because she didn’t seed in harming Belinda?”
Madisyn shot a dismissive look at Allen. “You know she’s Kristopher’s favorite. Do you really think you can challenge him?”
Belinda offered a slight smile. “That’s not necessary.”
“And why isn’t it necessary?”
Allen challenged, his eyes narrowing. “Belinda, you’re just as talented as Cathy. If we showcase you both online, I’m convinced you’d be the crowd favorite!”
He paused, ncing at Belinda earnestly. “Cathy’s deeply embedded in the entertainment world, and she’s petrified of negative publicity. You’ve just separated from Kristopher, and now she’s practically attached to him. If I leak the footage of Cathy deliberately bumping into you, not even Kristopher’s influence can shield her.”
Madisyn’s eyes went wide. She smacked her thigh in realization. “Exactly, Belinda!”
Turning to her, she pressed on. “Kristopher’s been dragging his feet on your divorce, hasn’t he? Use today’s incident as leverage. Threaten to expose the video and tarnish his darling Miss Miller unless he finalizes the divorce promptly.”
With a surge of enthusiasm, she grasped Belinda’s hand. “This could simplify your divorce immensely!”
