<b>Chapter </b><b>157 </b>
He ordered us pancakes, cheesed eggs, and sausage with orange from the hospital kitchen. For this ce <b>being </b><b>a </b>hospital, you would have sworn you were eating at a five star hotel. The food was delicious! <b>As </b>we ate, there was <b>a </b>knock on the door. Kai’s doctor and nurse arrived to provide him with his discharge papers.
Kai stood to shake Dr. Connors‘ hand as he made his way to our table.
<i>“</i><i>Good </i>morning <i>Heir </i><i>Chris</i><i>. </i><i>I </i><i>trust </i><i>you’re </i>feeling <i>well</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>
Kai looked at me and smiled warmly.
“<i>Better </i><i>than </i><i>well </i><i>doc</i>. I <i>feel </i><i>amazing</i>.”
I blushed.
The nurse held her head down a little as she smiled. Dr. Connors smiled as well while pulling out his discharge papers. I also stood up so that I could read the documents in case there were any special treatments or diets Kai may need.
“<i>Well </i><i>Kai</i><i>, </i><i>I </i><i>have </i>to <i>say</i><i>…</i><i>you’re </i><i>one </i>of <i>my </i><i>more </i><i>remarkable </i><i>stories</i><i>. </i><i>The </i><i>ident </i><i>you </i><i>were </i><i>end</i><i>…</i><i>something </i>like <i>that </i><i>could </i><i>have </i><i>been </i><i>fatal</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>
I shuttered at those words; I could no longer imagine a world Kai was not in.
“<i>And </i><i>yet</i><i>, </i><i>somehow </i><i>not </i><i>only did </i><i>you </i><i>survive </i><i>but </i><i>you’ve </i><i>awaken </i><i>from </i>a six <i>month </i><ia</i><i>! </i><i>Your </i><i>vitals </i><i>and </i><i>tests </i><i>all </i><i>came </i><i>back </i><i>great</i><i>. </i><i>The </i><i>results </i><i>of </i><i>the </i><i>EKG </i><i>as </i><i>well </i><i>as </i><i>the </i><i>CAT </i><i>all </i><i>look </i><i>great</i><i>. </i><i>There’s </i><i>no </i><i>neurological </i><i>damages </i><i>whatsoever </i>as <i>well</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

He stood back straight and winked.
<i>Uggghhhh</i>!!!
I have got to get a hold of myself! <b>I </b>can’t turn bright red every time he does something cute. I’m starting to think he’s doing this on purpose.
Dr. Connors signed off on his discharge as the nurse checked his vitals onest time.
<i>“</i><i>All </i><i>good </i><i>Mr. </i><i>Chris</i><i>.</i><b><i>” </i></b>

After the doctor and nurse left, Kai called Cameron and instructed him to head to hospital. Afterwards, he called his parents to let them know we would be home soon.
I could hear the excitement on the other end as everyone cheered. Cameron along with the two bodyguards from yesterday arrived at 10:30am. As Cameron instructed the bodyguards to grab our bags, he pulled out a tablet.
<i>“</i><i>Good </i><i>morning </i><i>sir</i><i>.</i>”
<i>“</i><i>Cameron</i><i>. </i><i>I </i>trust <i>you </i><i>had </i><i>a </i><i>good </i><i>evening </i><i>yesterday</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>
<i>“</i><i>Indeed</i><i>, </i><i>I </i><i>did </i><i>sir</i><i>. </i><i>I’ve </i><i>made </i><i>sure </i><i>your </i><i>recovery </i><i>remained </i><i>concealed</i><i>. </i><i>We’ll </i><i>release </i><i>that </i><i>information </i><i>when </i><i>you’re </i><i>ready</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>
“<i>Excellent</i>. <i>I </i><i>don’t </i><i>want </i><i>anyone </i>to <i>know </i>of <i>my </i><i>recovery </i><i>until </i><i>September</i>. <i>I’ll </i><i>update </i><i>you </i><i>on </i><i>everything </i><i>over </i><i>the </i><i>next </i><i>few </i><i>days</i>. <i>I’ll </i><i>be </i><i>working </i><i>from </i><i>my </i><i>home </i><i>office</i>.<i>” </i>
Cameron nodded in agreement.
“Oh, <i>and </i><i>Cameron</i><i>…</i><i>good </i><i>work</i><i>. </i><i>Thank </i><i>you </i><i>for </i><i>maintaining </i><i>everything </i><i>these </i><i>past </i><i>six </i><i>months</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>
Cameron smiled brightly. The warmth of Kai’s appreciation in his eyes. I smiled slightly; Cameron really was amazing.
We made our way to the elevators; I could tell Kai was eager to go home. Before leaving, He whispered something in Cameron’s ear. Cameron walked over to the head administrator and spoke low enough for only her to hear. I could see the older woman’s eyes widen with what looked like shock. After Cameron finished, he walked away with a slight smile.
Several nurses ran over to the admin and asked what was said. I wasn’t sure what Cameron had told her, but as we walked onto the elevator, sounds that resembled cheers began to erupt as the doors closed.
We walked over to a white Rolls–Royce. The two bodyguards walked over to a ck Ford Expedition. Kai opened my door while smiling at me.
<i>“</i><i>Ready </i><i>to </i><i>go </i><i>home </i><i>fiancé</i><i>?</i><i>” </i>
I beamed at the title. Hearing him say it made it officially feel real.
“<i>Ready</i><i>.</i>”
