    <b>Chapter </b><b>30 </b>

    <i>-Rabena’s </i><b><i>POV</i></b><b><i>: </i></b>

I woke up that next morning feeling like I’d slept for 100 years. My body felt so rxed I couldn’t help buty and smile. Last night was like a romance novel. Aaron made my body and soul feel things I never thought I’d experience. I felt loved and cherished. I was actually happy I gave myself to him and found myself feeling greedy for wanting more. Aaron had already got up and would be in the conference room for most of the morning setting everything up for the ball. He’d left a note for me on the pillow.

    <i>“</i><b><i>Good </i></b>morning my beautiful wife to be. I trust you <i>slept </i>wellst night…I most certainly did ??<i>. </i>Enjoy <i>a </i><b>good </b>and <b><i>hearty </i></b><b><i>breakfast</i></b><b><i>. </i></b><i>I’ve </i>booked you an appointment at <i>the </i><b>spa</b>. There’s a <i>little </i>surprise waiting <b>for </b><b><i>you </i></b><b>when </b>you arrive. I’ll <b>be </b><b>to </b>pick you <i>up </i>at 12:30 <b>for </b>our <i>meeting </i>with <b><i>the </i></b>chairwoman.

    <b><i>Love</i></b><b><i>, </i></b>

    Your <i>Husband </i><b>to </b><b><i>be</i></b><b><i>. </i></b>

I couldn’t help but blush all over. After taking a shower, I met up with Damon and had breakfast. Taking a sip of my coffee, I noticed Damon had a peculiar look on his face.

    “<i>What </i><i>are </i><i>you </i><i>staring </i><i>at</i><i>?</i><i>” </i>

Tilting his head, he took a bite of toast.

    <i>“</i><i>I </i><i>don’t </i><i>know</i><i>. </i><i>Something </i><i>about </i><i>you </i>seems <i>different </i><i>this </i><i>morning</i>.”

My eyes instantly bulked up. How the hell did he know! Was it that obvious? Stuffing pancakes in my mouth to make sure I wouldn’t say anything too embarrassing, I yed at not knowing what he was referring too.

    “I <i>don’t </i><i>why </i><i>you </i><i>feel </i><i>that </i><i>way</i><i>, </i><i>I’m </i><i>still </i><i>the </i><i>same </i><i>me</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

Looking at my brother with a slightly guilty expression, he lowered his head and smiled.

    “<i>Well</i><i>, </i>that’s not <i>true</i><i>, </i><i>and </i><i>much </i>as I <i>want </i>to <i>kill </i><i>him </i><i>right now</i><i>, </i>I’m d <i>you’re </i><i>happy</i><i>.</i>”

We both stared at each other for a brief moment, a protective big brother to his little sister, I put my fork down and hugged him tight. Tears forming as I began to speak.

    “Thank you for <i>always </i><i>loving </i><i>me</i><i>. </i>I <i>am </i><i>really </i>happy<i>.</i><i>” </i>

    Damon gripped a little tighter,

    <i>“</i><i>He </i><i>better </i>keep <i>it </i><i>that </i><i>way </i>or else <i>he’ll </i><i>have </i>to deal with me<i>.</i>”

I couldn’t help butugh, remembering the day he saved me and beat Thomas‘ ass, I knew he met every

    word.

After breakfast, me and Damon split up. He decided to hit the gym and then catch up with some friends while I made my way to the hotel’s spa. As soon as I arrived, hostess immediately knew who I was. She eagerly led me to the VIP room.

    <i>“</i>Mrs. <i>Michales </i><i>wee</i><i>! </i><i>Your </i>husband made <i>reservations </i><i>for </i><i>you </i>to <i>have </i><i>our </i><i>full </i><i>VIP </i><i>spa </i>treatment <i>so </i><i>please </i><i>let </i>us know if <i>there’s </i><i>anything </i>we can do to <i>make </i><i>your </i><i>stay </i>more <ifortable</i><i>. </i><i>Please </i><i>follow </i><i>me</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

As we got closer to the doors I could have sworn I heard voices of women chatting, some I even thought I recognized. When the double doors opened I was taken by a full surprise. Aaron arranged for everyone to be here! Pera, Brea, Tara, Gloria, Caroline, even little Grace. I so was overwhelmed with joy all I could do was hold my breath. Just as I was about to walk over and hug everyone there was a light tap on my shoulder. When I turned around, I could hardly believe it. Standing before me was Lina and Lisa, Aaron’s mom and younger sister. That was it, I couldn’t hold it in anymore. The tears began flowing down my face as I hugged them both tightly.

Lina extended her arms and stepped back.

    “<i>Well</i>, <i>my </i><i>goodness</i><i>! </i><i>Look </i><i>at </i><i>how </i><i>beautiful </i><i>you </i><i>are </i><i>Ruby</i><i>!</i><i>” </i>

Lisa chimed in, her voice still full of that vivacious excitement, she hadn’t changed one bit.

    “<i>OMG </i>mom <i>right</i><i>! </i><i>Ruby </i><i>you </i><i>look </i><i>gorgeous</i>! Oh <i>my </i><i>gosh </i><i>I’ve </i>missed <i>you </i>so <i>much</i><i>!! </i>I’m so <i>d </i><i>you’re </i><i>home</i><i>!</i><i>” </i>

The word home meant so much more to me than any of them would ever know. My heart finally felt the way it felt over five years ago. I was finally back with my loved ones; Aaron had truly outdone himself. <fnb926> This update is avable on findnovel</fnb926>

After the hugs and introductions, we all sat around in the spaughing and catching up. It was just like old times when my mom would host slumber parties for me.

    “<i>Ohhh </i><i>I </i><i>cannot </i><i>wait </i><i>to </i><i>start </i><i>nning </i><i>the </i><i>wedding</i><i>!</i><i>” </i>

Lisa pped her hands loudly; she’d just graduated designer school and was eager to put her skills to use.

    “<i>Absolutely</i><i>, </i><i>my </i><i>son </i>won’t <i>be </i><i>allowed </i><i>to </i><i>be </i><i>cheap </i><i>with </i><i>this</i><i>. </i><i>You’re </i><i>going </i>to <i>have </i><i>nothing </i><i>but </i><i>the </i><i>best</i><i>! </i><i>I </i><i>want </i><i>Grace </i><i>smiling </i><i>all </i><i>the </i><i>way </i><i>from </i><i>heaven</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

Hearing my future mother–inw say that about my mom, the tears started to pour again.

    “Awe Ruby<i>! </i><i>Don’t </i><i>cry</i><i>! </i><i>You’re </i>gonna make me <i>cry</i>.”

Tara chuckled as she handed me a tissue and also wiped tears out of her own eyes. I couldn’t help it however<b>, </b>it had been so long since felt this happy, it made thest five years feel like it was just a bad dream,

    <i>“So</i><i>, </i>what’s on the itinerary after <i>the </i>spa?”

Brea asked as she sipped her champagne. My Aunt Gloria pulled out a list from her pocket. I couldn’t believe it; they actually had an itinerary.

    <i>“</i><i>After </i><i>we’re </i><i>finished </i><i>here </i><i>we’ll </i><i>have </i><i>a </i><i>few </i><i>hours </i>of downtime <i>from </i><i>12</i>:30-3pm<i>. </i><i>Aaron </i>and <i>Ruby </i><i>have </i><i>an </i><i>appointment</i>. <i>Once </i><i>she </i><i>gets </i>back to <i>the </i>hotel, <i>we’ll </i>head to <i>Charte</i>‘ <i>Boutique </i><i>to </i><i>buy </i><i>gowns </i>for tomorrow <i>night</i>. <i>Aaron </i>booked out <i>the </i>entire store from <i>3:30</i><i>pm-7pm</i>, <i>After </i><i>that</i>, <i>we’re </i><i>going </i><i>to </i><i>have </i><i>a </i><i>family </i><i>dinner </i><i>with </i><i>everyone </i>at <i>Tremark’s </i><i>Steakhouse</i>.”

Lisa took a sip of her wine and giggled.

    “<i>Oh </i>my god, <i>my </i><i>brother </i><i>is </i><i>really </i><i>in </i><i>love</i><i>! </i><i>He </i><i>is </i><i>going </i><i>all </i><i>out</i><i>!</i><i>” </i>

With a proud smile on her face, Lina began to speak.

    “Well<i>, </i><i>he </i><i>has </i><i>been </i><i>in </i><i>love </i><i>with </i><i>Ruby </i><i>since </i><i>he </i>was 17.”

Hearing that almost made me choke on my wine. Who’s been in love! I looked over at my mother–inw withplete shock. Suddenly, Tara chimed in with a slight hint ofughter in her voice.

    <i>“</i><i>Ruby</i><i>, </i><i>you </i><i>really </i><i>didn’t </i><i>know</i>. <i>He </i><i>definitely </i><i>had </i><i>a </i><i>crush </i><i>on </i><i>you </i><i>when </i><i>we </i><i>were </i><i>in </i><i>high </i><i>school</i>.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, how had I not known this? Why did everyone else know? What was going on?

    <i>“</i><i>Yeah </i><i>he </i><i>used </i><i>to </i><i>watch </i><i>you </i><i>y </i><i>your </i><i>violin </i><i>all </i><i>the </i><i>time</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

Pera said with smile as she picked out a nail polish color. Hearing all of this was crazy, I never knew Aaron paid that much attention to me. Growing up, I used to think he was just Lisa’s uptight big brother, he barley even smiled. Caroline suddenly spoke breaking my train of thought.

    <i>“</i><i>So</i><i>, </i><i>it </i><i>was </i><i>fate</i>. <i>The </i><i>two </i><i>of </i><i>you </i><i>were </i><i>destined </i>for <i>each </i><i>other</i>.”

Fate. I wonder if there was some truth to that. After so many years of feeling unloved and unwanted, I certainly hoped it was true.

We spent the rest of the time in spaughing and talking about dream weddings, kids, careers. This was without a doubt the best day I had in a long time.
