    The moment I grabbed my long coat from the couch and slipped my arms into the sleeves, the dorm door burst open with such force that it mmed against the wall.


    I barely had time to turn before Selene rushed inside like a hurricane.


    The next thing I knew, she closed the distance between us in two long strides and wrapped her arms around me in a bone-crushing hug.


    "Eva!" she squealed.


    She squeezed tighter and started rocking me back and forth like I was a child-sized rag doll. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"


    From the corner of my eye, I could see Noah, Ria, and Mallory frozen where they stood, staring at us like they had just witnessed a rare animal in the wild.


    Which... honestly... wasn’t far from the truth.


    Selene was not a hugger. She was not squealy. And she definitely did not bounce on her toes like an overexcited pup.


    Yet here she was, hugging me like her life depended on it.


    "I... can’t... breathe," I croaked, weakly patting her shoulder.


    She either didn’t hear me or chose to ignore it.


    "You set me up with one of the hottest men I have ever seen in my life!" she continued excitedly. "Do you even understand what you have done?!"


    My lungs were really protesting now.


    "Selene..." I wheezed.


    Thankfully, Mallory stepped in before my soul left my body.


    "Hey," she said dryly. "You might want to loosen your grip before you identally murder your friend."


    Selene froze. Then she looked down at me. And then her eyes widened.


    "Oh my goddess!"


    She immediately released me like I had turned into fire.


    I staggered back a step, sucking in a deep breath while pressing a hand to my chest.


    "I’m so sorry!" She said sheepishly, her cheeks flushing pink.


    "It’s okay," I said between breaths, raising a hand. "I’m alive... mostly."


    Mallory had already moved closer, crossing her arms as she eyed Selene suspiciously.


    Selene, meanwhile, looked like someone had injected pure happiness into her veins.


    She couldn’t stop smiling.


    Actually - no.


    Smiling was an understatement.


    She was glowing.


    Her cheeks were pink, her eyes sparkled, and she kept biting her lower lip like she was reying something very pleasant in her head.


    Ria leaned toward Noah and whispered loudly, "Who reced Selene with this... smiling creature?"


    Noah nodded seriously. "Definitely a skinwalker."


    Selene rolled her eyes at them but failed to hide the grin stretching across her face.


    I watched her for a moment before finally asking the question that had been sitting on the tip of my tongue.


    "So..." I said slowly. "Was Elion good to you during the date?"


    The room went quiet.


    Even Mallory leaned closer.


    After all, I had been the one who arranged the blind date. And thest thing I ever wanted was for Selene to have a bad experience because of me.


    But honestly?


    Looking at her glowing face, I doubted the date had gone badly.


    Selene sped her hands together and let out a dreamy sigh. "Oh my goddess, Eva," she breathed, "He was amazing."


    My shoulders immediately rxed. A small smile tugged at my lips as I asked to confirm, "He was?"


    She nodded rapidly.


    "He was respectful, kind, charming..." Her voice dropped an octave as she added dramatically, "...and so hot."


    Ria burst outughing. While Mallory just smirked. As for Noah, he just looked like he wanted to already meet Elion himself to confirm Selene’s praises.


    I, on the other hand, let out a quiet sigh of relief.


    Good.


    That meant my boss had listened to me.


    Before the date, I had very clearly told him that if he did anything to upset my friend, I would personally make his life miserable.


    Apparently, he had behaved exactly as instructed.


    Mallory tilted her head curiously. "So," she asked, "are you two meeting again?"


    That question made all of us look at Selene expectantly.


    A good first date usually meant a second one.


    Right?


    Selene’s smile softened as she thought about it.


    "Well..." she said slowly. "While we were talking, he made me feel like he was enjoying the date. But... he didn’t ask me out for a second one."


    We all frowned in unison.


    "But!" She quickly added, raising a finger. "We did exchange our socials."


    Her smile returned.


    "So there might be a chance."


    I studied her face carefully.


    There was no disappointment there. No bitterness. Just quiet hope.


    Then suddenly she grabbed both my hands. "Eva, thank you," she said sincerely.


    I blinked.


    "For what?"


    "For arranging this date."


    I opened my mouth to say something, but she continued before I could.


    "I mean... sure, maybe nothing wille out of it," she admitted. "Maybe I won’t end up dating one of the hottest young Alphas in our world."


    Ria snorted.


    "But honestly?" Selene continued, smiling softly. "I’m already happy."


    She squeezed my hands.


    "Just going on that date and having such a great time was enough."


    My chest warmed.


    "As for what happens next," she added lightly, "I’ll leave that to the Moon Goddess."


    For a moment, no one spoke.


    Then Mallory smiled.


    "That’s actually a pretty great attitude."


    "Seriously," Ria agreed. "You are handling this way better than I would."


    Noah nodded solemnly. "If I went on a date with someone that hot, I’d already be nning the wedding."


    Seleneughed.


    Their praise made her blush slightly, but she didn’t look embarrassed. She looked... peaceful.


    And somehow, that made me rx too.


    Then Selene suddenly looked around the room.


    Her eyes narrowed.


    "Wait," she said. "Are you guys going somehow?"

    I hadpletely forgotten about that.


    "Dinner," Noah answered. "Kyros just messaged us. He’s already waiting for us in Lakeshire, so we are heading there. Rowan will join us there too. You should go with us."


    Selene let out a sigh and shook her head.


    "I’d love to," she said. "But I’m honestly still full. I ate a lot today."


    Mallory smirked. "Very productive date."


    Selene shushed her before adding, "You guys go ahead. Just make sure to bring me desert."

    "Deal."


    With that, we grabbed our bags and headed toward the door.


    Selene wavedzily. "Have fun!"


    "Rest well!" Ria called.


    "Don’t stalk Alpha Elion on social media too much," Mallory teased.


    Selene gasped dramatically.


    "I would never."


    Noah muttered, "She definitely will."


    Then we stepped out into the hallway.
