Natalie pushed aside the thick holly leaves.
Finn’s mom froze, too terrified to move. She screwed her eyes shut, refusing to look.
Natalie uncovered the body–The teacher.
Unconscious, bleeding from the back of her head.
Natalie immediately pulled out her phone and called the police.
Finn’s mom peeked open her eyes at the sound of the name, then recoiled at the sight.
“Susie’s mom… this wasn’t your husband, was it?”
Natalie’s frown deepened. “Why would you say that?”
“Well, that teacher tried to seduce him earlier, didn’t she? He pped her in front of everyone. Then she disappeared. He left with the kids. What if they crossed paths again? If she kept pestering him… and, well, your husband doesn’t exactly have the mildest temper.”
