Harper paused in front of the mirror, poking out her left hip to strike a pose, then did the same with her left hip.
I’d meant to say she looked sexy when she wanted my opinion, but beautiful was all I could say. Even at that moment, she was beautiful. She turned around to check out what the view was like from the back, her thigh with the slit ced in front of the other one like she was
about to strut.
Her soft giggle as she smoothed the fabric on her hips made my lips curve into a smile. I didn’t know the dress would mean that much to her.
“You’re acting like I gave you diamonds,” I said, finally getting up from the chair and approaching her.
“It’s just that this is one of
my
favourite dresses.”
“I can tell.” I stopped right in front of her and ced my hands on her shoulders, then turned her around in one swift move so we could both face the mirror.
She was still a little surprised by my actions, her wide eyes watching me in the mirror.
“What? Thought I was about to rip it off of you again?” I teased, whispering against the nape of her neck that had hickeys all over.
She closed her eyes and dropped her head to the side, like she was waiting for my lips toe in contact with her skin.
“I don’t hear you saying no,” I whispered again, moving my lower half closer so it coulde in contact with her soft ass.
Her breath hitched when I tucked a few hair strands behind her ear and her lips parted in pleasure. She didn’t even want to see us in the mirror. She only wanted to feel what I was doing to her.
The ends brushed against the back of her neck and she arched her back like that sent a shiver down her spine.
“The private jet will take you back to San Francisco.” My voice was quiet as I scanned her figure from the back.
“What about you? Don’t you have to leave soon?” She wasn’t even loud enough, her voice low and seductive like she didn’t want me to stop.
“I’ll use the other one,” I said.
“Other one?”

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” I bragged in a quiet voice, watching how the fabric clung to her figure.
The more I stood in ce with her ass poking against my cock, the more I felt the blood rushing to it. She must have felt me getting hard as she subtly pressed against me a little
more.
Just to see her reaction, I dropped my hands from her hair and took a few steps back, her eyes finally opening with a pout. She quicklyposed herself, but I saw it and it was cute.
“Do your makeup or whatever you need and I’ll drop you off at the airport.” I took off my unbuttoned shirt and opened my closet for something different. “Did you do it?”
“Do what?” She walked past me to get to her handbag.
“Did you text Anna?”
She sighed. “I just couldn’t do it.”
I looked over as she rummaged through her bag. “You still have time. The day is far from over.”
“I know, but…” She trailed off, like that was the only way she’d be able to find whatever she was looking for. “I’ve thought about typing a long message and everything I want to say is already in my head, but I just can’t.”
Finally picking out one of my favorite suits when I travel, I said, “If I were you, I wouldn’t let this day pass me by.”
She sighed. “You’re right.”
My eyes followed her as she made her way back to the mirror with a tiny sponge and some foundation or concealer. I couldn’t tell which one it was. But the first thing she did was cover up the hickeys and it made me chuckle.
“Never leave those products behind,” I said as I approached her. “You know what I like to do to you.”
“Not you bragging about…”
She trailed off when her phone buzzed on the table, a light giggle escaping her lips as she looked at the caller ID. Her giggle wasn’t one of the polite ones she gave to strangers or the teasing ones she gave to me. It was softer, like it belonged to someone else.

I angled my head just enough to catch the name lighting up the screen. Who the hell was
Dean?
Pressing the phone against her ear, she looked back at the mirror while smiling with each word she said to him. I found myself listening harder than I meant to and when herughter filled the room, it made my chest tighten. Even the softest chuckle
got under my skin.
I told myself to focus on putting on the suit, so I took it with me when I made my way to the bathroom and shut the door.
The sensible thing to do would’ve been to block out her voice by being far from the door. Instead, I ced my ear against it, even holding my breath as if that could make her words louder.
“You better not leave without seeing me!” Her tone was yful with an edge of something real under it. “I can’t believe this is it.”
My jaw clenched. This is it? What the hell was that supposed to mean?
The conversation was longer than I thought it would be, like she could talk to him for hours and I heard enough, so I forced myself away from the door, telling myself I didn’t care even when I knew I did.
When I walked back out, she was still staring at the screen with a smile even after the call hade to an end.
“Is that your new catch? You two sound really close.” I asked, grabbing a necktie from my closet.
“He’s just a friend,” she casually said from behind me. “Now that I think about it, I never told you about him before.”
“Why would you want to tell me?” My tone came out sharper than I meant.
“He’s the guy from the bar. Remember when you got in the
way that night?”
I looked back at her in disbelief. “You’re friends with that guy?”
“Crazy, right?” She sighed. “We’ve been friends for a while. He’s actually such a good guy.”
I tightened the grip on my necktie until the silk wrinkled. Good guy?
“Not sure why you’re still talking about him.” I said tly, approaching the mirror and standing next to her.
“You’re the one who wanted to know.” She scoffed.
She was right. But that didn’t mean I wanted to hear it.
“And you had a thing with his cousin before breaking her heart,” she added.
I met her eyes through the mirror. “Me?”
“Wow, you make it sound like you’d never do such a thing”

chest. Her sarcasm made me chuckle lightly, but it didn’t case the tightening in my
“What’s the cousin’s name?” I asked, more to cover the irritation than the curiosity.
“I don’t know. I never asked. It was none of my business anyway.”
She moved closer, like she wanted to help with my tic, but I took a step to the left just to show her that I’d do it on my own and her hand dropped.
“Put on your heels so I can drop you off.” My tone was colder than I wanted it to be.
Her forehead creased, like she was trying to read me. “Is everything okay?”
“It’s just the emergency meeting that’s on my mind. I’m almost ready, so make it quick.”
She nodded in agreement, approaching the closet to pick up her heels. I watched her bend over and I couldn’t help it as I kept looking back at her and before I could stop myself, I followed her, ced my hands on her hips and pulled her back towards me until her spine pressed against my chest. My fingertips gently ran through her hair while I held her still.
“I told you before that this is exclusive,” I whispered against her ear. “Dean better not be part of it.”
