After Eliza delivered a stern admonition, Noelle lowered her head and did not dare to speak.
Eliza also softened his expression and, with affection, pulled Noelle’s hand over and held it in his own.
“Noelle, I understand that this is not what you mean. But so many years have passed. You can’t remain fixated on Joshua alone. There are many good men out there. Once your household registration is transferred to our family, I will help you find a suitable match, all right?”
No!
There were many good men out there, but there was no one like Joshua.
She had liked Joshua for a long time.
He was good–looking and came from a distinguished family. Though he is unruly and unrestrained, he upheld his own values and sense of right and wrong.
Noelle insisted that Joshua was the only man she must marry in this lifetime.
However, she couldn’t have a falling out with Eliza at this time.
She forced a faint smile.
“I understand, Mrs. Garcia. However, regarding the household registration, I still hope it remains with our family. I don’t want to sever thest bond with Joshua.”
After hearing this, Eliza also realized that she was not qualified to force Noelle to abandon the Coffey family.
As long as Noelle coulde to terms with it, everything would be fine.
“It’s okay. Even if your household registration isn’t transferred here, you will always be the only daughter of the Garcia family.”
Noelle nodded sweetly.
Eliza thought that she hade to terms with it and was overjoyed.
As long as Eliza and Joshua could get along, she would be at ease.
“By the way, Mrs. Garcia, Garcia Group’s Norhill branch is seeking designers. May I apply for the position?”
“Of course. Why wouldn’t you be able to work at your ownpany? Besides, you just won an award and are now a highly sought–after designer. With you on board, it’ll take thepany to a whole new level.”
Noelle smiled and said, “Then I will submit my resume when I go back tonight.”
“Why bother submitting more resumes? I’ll talk to your uncle when I get back and get it done.”

She had long heard that Joshua would be overseeing the Norhill branch. As she entered Garcia Group this time, she knew she must seize the initiative and make Joshua recognize that she alone was qualified to stand by his side.
And that so–called Xylia, a remarried woman who was once a housewife, is in no way worthy of him!

Joshua returned to Norhill on the afternoon of the following day.
He rushed to Xylic Studio immediately after getting off the ne.
Upon arrival at the location, it began to drizzle.
During her recovery period, Xylia observed Sheryl Carson and Leroy drafting design sketches, and felt a strong urge to participate herself.
She was holding a pen and making a few casual strokes in her own office.
Just then, Josie led Joshua and knocked on the office door.
“Ms. Sadler, your proprietress is back.”
Josie made a teasing remark with a beaming smile.
Xylia looked up and saw Joshua. As she recalled Josie’s words, a blush rose to her cheeks.
Seemingly afraid that Xylia would reprimand her, Josie left immediately after saying this.
Xylia felt a surge of frustration and vowed to give Josie a proper lesson.
Joshua raised an eyebrow.
“Proprietress?”
He spoke as he walked toward Xylia, one hand in his pocket and the other draping a suit jacket, his stride marked by an unruly confidence.
After more than a month apart, he appeared noticeably thinner. Faint dark circles lingered beneath his indicating inadequate rest.
Yet the corners of his beautiful eyes lifted, his eyes deep as pools filled with a rich smile, showing not the slightest trace of fatigue.
“Josie just loves to fabricating stories. Don’t listen to her.”
Joshua was not satisfied with this answer.

He gave a slight twist to his lips, casually draped his suit jacket over Xylia’s desk, then strode forward to stand before her.
The paintbrush in Xylia’s hand was snatched away.
She instinctively tried to snatch it back. As she began to lift herself up, Joshua’s body suddenly pressed down.
He ced his hands on the sides of her chair and leaned over her, half his body pressing down, prompting her to instinctively lean back.
Her back rested against the chair.
The distance between them was but a breath.
She could distinctly smell the fresh scent on Joshua’s body.
Her cheeks were slightly flushed.
Joshua watched her face closely, grabbed her bandaged wrist to examine it and then leaned close to touch her forehead.
Afterpleting the sequence of movements, Xylia did not have time to react.
However, Joshua withdrew his hand first and said with a smile.
“You’ve taken good care of herself.”
A searing heat rushed to Xylia’s ears, making them feel scorching hot.
She raised her hand and pushed Joshua away. “Stay away from me.”
Joshua suddenly seized her wrist. Instead of stepping back, he leaned in close, their breaths mingling, separated by no more than the width of a fist.
Xylia felt a chill run down her spine.
“It’s been so long since west met. Don’t you miss me?”
“Didn’t I send a message?”
She yfully dodged his question and answered in an almost inaudible voice.
Joshua was not satisfied with this answer.
He asked, “I said I woulde to you for an answer when I returned. Have you made up your mind?”
Xylia’s fingernails trembled slightly, and her cold fingertips were instantly grasped in Joshua’s palm.
Confronted with such a forceful attack from Joshua, she was nearly defeated.
“I…”

She actually had not yet made a decision.
:
However, she could sense that she did not feel any aversion toward Joshua.
Joshua wasn’t in a hurry and waited with considerable patience for her response.

Xylia’s heart beat much faster than usual. Her eyshes trembled slightly as she tilted her head and looked at Joshua’s face of heartbreaking beauty.
In fact, his face alone is sufficient to win her heart.
She opened her lips and said, “We can give it a try. If we ultimately found that we weren’t a good fit, then…”
Before he could finish, Joshua kissed her, silencing all the words she was about to say.
Xylia’s pupils contracted sharply, and she stood frozen in ce.
Joshua simply brushed her lips lightly before quickly pulling away.
Standing so close, Xylia could see his beautiful eyes, like a spring filled with flowers, radiating a happiness that words could not capture.
“We’ll definitely be a great fit.”
His deep, maic voice seemed to tremble, imbued with lingering gentleness and unwavering resolve.
Xylia’s ears flushed once again.
She realized and immediately pushed Joshua away.
“Who said you could kiss me?”
Joshua straightened up, squatted beside Xylia, and looked up slightly at her eyes.
His face once again took on a roguish expression, with a pronounced smile at the corner of his lips.
He held her hand and, brimming with pride, dered, “Just because I’m now the official proprietress of Xylic Studio.”
Xylia couldn’t help butugh at his unexpected disy of pride.
The rain outside the window grew heavier, pounding on the windowpane, making a ttering noise that was really annoying.
Joshua clicked his tongue.
“It’s raining on such a beautiful day. What a shame if we don’t go on a date.”
Xylia eximed in surprise, “A date?”
‘Is it that urgent?‘ she thought.

Xylia let out a startled cry, wrapped both arms around his neck, and awkwardly patted his shoulder.
“Put me down!”
“I won’t let go. If you go to dinner with me, I’ll forgive you for not picking me up at the airport.”
“Huh?” Xylia blinked, totally lost.
I’m already like this, and he wants me to go to the airport to pick him up?‘ she wondered.
Joshua’s breath suddenly brushed her ear.
“I have awaited this day for a very long time.”
