Until she boarded the ne back to Norhill, Xylia’s mind kept reying thest words Joshua said to her as he saw her off. “Go back and wait for me.”

‘Wait for him? What does it mean?‘ she thought.

The ne passed through the clouds, and Xylia’s gaze lingered on them for a long time. When Hudson called her name, she turned her head, and for a moment, her eyes remained unfocused.

    “What’s wrong, Hudson?” she asked.

Hudson sat next to Xylia, resting his head on his hand while looking at her. “Xylia, are you feeling sorrowful?”

From the moment she boarded the ne, Xylia’s eyes had been fixed on the window. She was so quiet, as if draped in a thinyer of sadness. It wasn’t overwhelming, but it was enough to worry those around her.

Hudson exchanged a nce with Cyrus. Hudson was the first to speak.

Xylia turned to face him. Across the aisle, she saw Hudson leaning sideways, resting his head on his hand. His eyes were full of concern.

“I’ve heard about you and Connor. Why would you want a man with such aplicated rtionship with his wife’s sister?

“And your son, although you share an undeniable blood bond, everyone has the right to choose. Since he chose to be with Connor, maybe you should consider that you no longer have this son,” Hudson said.

“Hudson.” Cyrus shot Hudson a disapproving look.

Realizing his mistake, Hudson quickly apologized, gently tapping his lips, then looked at Xylia. “Anyway, you’re going home now. We will make sure you’re not bullied again.”

Xylia smiled slightly, trying to reassure them. “Don’t worry. I’m fine. I was just thinking about something a friend said.”

From the moment she boarded the ne, she had severed all ties with Jupiton. After sharing her new contact details with close friends, she discarded her old SIM card.

With Maverick’s help, Connor and Tessa would get what they deserved. There was nothing left in Jupiton for her to hold onto anymore.

She understood her brothers‘ concerns, but there was no longer any need for them.

“Friend?” Kaden, sitting in front of her, sharply turned his head. “Which friend are you thinking about?”

“It’s Joshua, the one you met yesterday,” she said.

“What did he say to you? Even after an hour on the ne, you’re still thinking about him?” Kaden asked.

Xylia hesitated, but chose not to tell her brother what Joshua had said. His words could be easily misunderstood. “It’s nothing.”

She looked out the window as Kaden’s expression grew colder.

‘Could it be that Xylia is also interested in Joshua?‘ Kaden thought.

Cyrus and Hudson didn’t meet Joshua yesterday, but they were both familiar with the name. Because Leon Sadler had mentioned it before. Two, and the heir of the Garcia family was also named Joshua.

Xylia reclined her seat and started to sleep. Her brothers didn’t press her further.

Four hourster, as Xylia started to doze off, they finally arrived at the Sadler family residence in Norhill.

When she stepped out of the car, she was taken aback by the sight of the Sadler family’s estate.

The Sadler family’s manor was built against the mountains. The architecture was primarily traditional courtyard residences, with modern technology incorporated to create a retro–style manor.

The car entered the underground private garage, and they took the elevator to the ground level.

The design of the manor was elegant and exquisite, with plenty of nts, all carefully tended by dedicated servants. Walking along the path, crossing the pond, and passing through the corridor, they finally arrived at the main hall.

A middle–aged man walked up to several people. Kaden looked at the man and said, “Ruben, we have returned with little sister.”

When Ruben Hudson saw Xylia following behind Kaden, his eyes immediately filled with tears. “Miss Sadler, you’ve finally returned. If your parents and grandparents knew you were back, they’d be so happy.”

As he spoke, Ruben wiped his eyes.

Xylia nced helplessly at Kaden, and he patted Ruben’s shoulder. “Ruben, has her room been tidied up?”

“Yes, yes. I’ll take her there right now,” Ruben said.

Kaden turned to Xylia. “Let Hudson take you to your room. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.

Xylia nodded and followed Ruben and Hudson upstairs.

Cyrus walked up to Kaden and asked, “Is something wrong?”

“Joshua Garcia, do you remember?” Kaden asked.

    Cyrus furrowed his brows slightly.

Kaden continued, “Eight years ago, your hospital received a severely injured patient, one with gunshot wounds. The Garcia family secretly sent this patient, and your mentor personally cared for him.”

As distant memories resurfaced, a trace of panic flickered in Cyrus’s eyes. “Are you saying Xylia’s friend…?”

“He is the heir of the Garcia family and also the patient from eight years ago,” Kaden reached his conclusion firmly.

Cyrus, now understanding the gravity of the situation, furrowed his brows deeply.

The Garcia family, though low–key, was an influential wealthy family in the country. As far as he knew, the members of the Garcia family were not ordinary–they wielded power in both legal and illegal circles.

From Joshua’s gunshot and burn scars eight years ago, it was clear that his life was far from simple. If Xylia continued associating with Joshua, she might have run into unforeseen trouble.

Cyrus looked at Kaden seriously. “Kaden, what do you think the rtionship is between Xylia and Joshua?”

Judging from Xylia’s behaviorst night, it was clear that she had deep feelings for her friend. But Kaden could see that Joshua’s feelings toward Xylia were anything but simple.

“I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but since Xylia has returned, we cannot allow her to continue associating with the Garcia family,” Kaden turned to Cyrus. “Isn’t Leon dealing with some messtely? Go give him something to do.”

Cyrus felt some sympathy for Leon. He nodded and walked out.

Xylia followed Ruben to her own room.

Although the exterior of the house was distinctly retro, the interior was apletely different world.

The bedroom, located at the corner on the second floor, faced south. When the window was opened, a flood of sunlight poured in, casting a brilliant glow across the wooden floor.

The room was furnished with light yellow bedding, rosewood furniture, a walk–in closet, and smart appliances–everything one could need. Both the style and the decoration created a perfectly warm

    atmosphere.

Ruben led Xylia to the cloakroom, where he found a wardrobe about three meters wide and reaching all the way to the ceiling. He opened it, revealing a dazzling array of toys.

“Miss Sadler, these were prepared for you by your parents when they were alive. You’ve been missing for many years, but every year, they would prepare many gifts for you.

“They hoped that if you were ever found and returned, you would have thetest toys to y with,” Ruben said.
