Xylia and Joshua had just taken their seats and hadn’t had a chance to order yet when two familiar figures appeared at the door.

“Kaden? Mr. Quezada? How did you two…” Xylia froze.

Kaden walked slowly up to them, his cold gaze sweeping over Joshua before softening as he looked at Xylia. “Mr. Quezada and I have finished our discussion. Would you mind if we joined you at your table?”

Xylia looked somewhat troubled as she looked at Joshua. Since she had invited him to dinner, she wanted to make sure he didn’t mind.

Joshua nced at Xavi, who was following behind Kaden. Xavi shrugged at him, indicating that he did not understand either.

Joshua smiled and said, “I don’t mind.”

Only then did Xylia allow Kaden and Xavi to take their seats. Joshua sat next to Xylia.

The waiter brought the menu, and Xylia handed it to Joshua and Xavi to ce their orders.

Kaden felt a sense of satisfaction. It seemed like Xylia still considered him family, as she allowed them to order.

Joshua handed the menu to Xylia. “I’ve never eaten here before. Order whatever you like I’m good with anything.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Xavi choked. As the owner of this restaurant, Joshua had never eaten here. Xavi struggled to suppress the urge tough.

“Mr. Quezada, are you alright?” Xylia asked, concerned.

Xavi waved his hand, “It’s nothing. I just got a bit thirsty and choked on my own saliva. A little water will fix it.”

Joshua nced at him, a faint trace of disdain in his eyes.

Xylia didn’t pay much attention to Xavi anymore. She took the menu from Joshua, picked out what she liked, and then handed it to her brother. “Sadler, you should order something too.”

Kaden took the menu and began ordering while speaking to Joshua. “This restaurant is part of Garcia Group. Mr. Garcia, have you never eaten here before?”

A faint smile tugged at Joshua’s lips. “No.”

“Really? I thought you were a member of the Garcia family. Isn’t that the case?” Kaden asked.

An ufortable tension filled the air. Xavi could sense the brewing hostility and lowered his head, focusing intently on the menu. Out of everyone at the table, he was the only one there just to freeload.

Xylia quickly rified, “Kaden, Joshua is actually the Garcia family’s driver. He’s an employee, and he’s pretty frugal. He hasn’t had the chance to eat here.”

“I see,” Kaden responded. He gave Joshua a brief, indifferent look, then fell silent.

Joshua could tell that Kaden had keen insight and that his true identity would eventually be uncovered. It might even be that Kaden already knew who he really was.

A warning bell went off in Joshua’s mind. He needed to tell Xylia the truth about his identity first, or if Kaden exposed him, Xylia would definitely be upset.

Xylia, unaware of Joshua’s concerns, thought he was just ufortable. She leaned toward his ear and whispered, “Don’t feel uneasy. Kaden just looks a little expressionless.”

A faint smile yed at the corner of Joshua’s lips, finding Xylia rather endearing at that moment.

Kaden continued to observe the two, his gaze fixed on them. Xylia made an effort to ease the awkward atmosphere, talking to Joshua more and even serving him food.

Kaden’s grip on his chopsticks tightened as he watched their interaction. The sister he had only recently found was being lured away by Joshua.

Hedled a bowl of soup and ced it in front of Xylia. “Xylia, we’ve finished our business in Jupiton. You should say goodbye to your friends here. After tomorrow, we won’t being back to Jupiton very often.”

His words were clearly meant for Joshua to hear. Xylia, now the beloved heiress of the Sadler family, was not someone Joshua could just get close to.

Xavi, eating nearby and watching the drama unfold, finally couldn’t help but look at Xylia. “Are you really the long–lost youngest daughter of the Sadler family?”

    Xylia nodded.

Xavi continued to ask, “Are you leaving Jupiton tomorrow?”

    Xylia nodded again.

Xavi set down his fork and looked at Xylia, his expression slightly aggrieved. “Ms. Schultz, we’ve known each other for so long–doesn’t that make us friends? Howe you’re leaving without telling me?”

“It’s just that I haven’t had the chance yet,” Xylia said.

Xavi then pointed at Joshua again. “Then why did you bring Joshua to the farewell dinner?”

“Just a casual meal. It’s not like we won’t see each other again,” Xylia said, furrowing her brows at Xavi.

Realizing his mistake, Xavi looked at Joshua’s dark expression and tapped his mouth. “Okay, okay, I misspoke.”

He sighed dramatically, then yfully looked at Xylia. “I was looking forward to you joining thepany as our chief designer. Now that you’re leaving, what will Joshua and I do?”

Xylia smiled at Xavi. “I’ll still be working with yourpany in the future. Once I start my own studio, I’ll still be looking to you for support.”

“That is inevitable.” Xavi nced at Joshua and raised his eyebrows. “But some people might lose sleep over it.”

Joshua, sitting across from Xavi, immediately kicked him under the table.

Xavi winced in pain but couldn’t suppress his smile.

Kaden’s gaze toward Joshua grew increasingly wary.

After leaving the Caperson Bistro, Kaden spoke first. “Xylia,e with me. I’ll take you home.”

Xylia nced at Joshua, then said to Kaden, “Kaden, you go ahead. Joshua and I live very close. Let’s meet at the airport tomorrow.”

Kaden furrowed his brows. “Are you living together with him?”

“Of course not. I live across from him, that apartment belongs to his friend, and I’m just staying there for a while,” Xylia said.

Kaden regretted not pressing Xylia for her address when she had refused to tell him earlier. In other words, the two of them had been together almost every day. His chest tightened, and his face darkened with anger.

Joshua was in good spirits after seeing Kaden’s frustration. “Don’t worry, Kaden. I’ll make sure Xylia gets home safely.”

Xylia, unsure if it was her imagination, couldn’t shake the feeling that there was an inexplicable tension between Joshua and Kaden.

Kaden only said a few words before turning to leave.

Xylia suddenly forgot to take her phone and turned back to the restaurant.

Xavi patted Joshua on the shoulder, pretending to be sympathetic. “Take my advice: you need to win her family over. Now that you’ve offended her brother, if Xylia goes back and neveres out again, what will you do?”

Joshua, who had always been fearless, froze in ce as if struck by sudden realization.
