Xylia didn’t want to waste time arguing with Connor and Tessa, so she prepared to take the elevator with the
manager.
Connor’s expression grew more somber, his face darkening further. Just as Xylia was about to step into the elevator, Connor quickly stepped forward and pulled her out. “Xylia, you’re not going anywhere today!”
He couldn’t bear the thought of her meeting another man right in front of him. He was burning with rage. He even had the urge to go upstairs with her and confront that man personally.
Xylia struggled, trying to shake off Connor’s hand, but her strength was no match for his. She couldn’t free herself.
He pulled her outside, and she stumbled after him, almost falling multiple times in her high heels.
“Let go of me, Connor!” she shouted.
Connor said coldly, “Before I lose my temper, you must leave this ce.”
Suddenly, three people approached from the entrance. Upon seeing Connor pull Xylia along, their faces immediately turned cold. “Mr. Ford, what’s going on here?” one of them asked.
Connor looked up to find Kaden Sadler, the head of the Sadler family, standing before him. Kaden was apanied by two men, neither of whom Connor recognized, but he could guess their identities.
The Sadler family had four sons. On the left was a man dressed in a sharp suit, likely the second son, Cyrus
Sadler.
On the right, a man with silver–gray hair wearing a leather jacket, probably Hudson Sadler, the fourth son of the Sadler family.
As for the third son, he had never appeared in public. There were rumors that he was ill and had been kept at home all his life.
Noticing Xylia behind him, Connor immediately moved her behind himself, afraid she might disrupt his conversation with the Sadler brothers.
“Mr. Sadler,” Connor greeted, then forced a polite smile. “It’s a personal matter.”
Seizing the opportunity, Connor turned to re at Xylia. “Get out now, don’t make me take action.”
“Connor, you lunatic,” Xylia shot back, anger rising.
She still didn’t know who Kaden and his brothers were but vaguely recognized Kaden’s voice as familiar. However, she never imagined they were her older brothers.
Upon seeing the Sadler brothers, Tessa’s eyes lit up. “Mr. Sadler, it’s good to see you again. I’m Tessa, and I worked with yourpany two years ago,” she said, smiling.

Kaden didn’t spare her a nce and kept his attention on Connor and Xylia.

Tessa, following Kaden’s gaze, saw the struggle between Xylia and Connor. She shot Xylia a re before quickly speaking up.
“Mr. Sadler, this is Mr. Ford and his wife, who he’s about to divorce. Well, but his wife was unfaithful during their marriage. Mr. Ford found out, and understandably, he’s not in the best mood. Please, bear with us,” Tessa said.
She walked over to Xylia and whispered, “Hurry up and leave. Don’t mess things up here.”
She gave Xylia a push. Already wearing high heels, Xylia stumbled as Tessa pushed her, almost losing her bnce.
Before Connor could reach out to support her, someone else quickly stepped forward, wrapping an arm around her waist and helping her stand. “Are you alright?” came a concerned voice.
Xylia quickly stood, startled, as she lifted her gaze and met a pair of stunning eyes. His gaze was deep, with a gentle and soft light in his eyes that seemed to hold unspoken emotions.
Xylia shook her head and quickly said thank you. “I’m fine, thank you.”
Cyrus lowered his gaze to look at Xylia. He had only seen her in photos before, but now, seeing her in person, she was even more beautiful than he had imagined.
“Mr. Ford, you don’t seem to treat your wife with the same affection that’s rumored online,” Kaden remarked coldly.
Xylia furrowed her brows. That voice sounded so familiar–it reminded her of her older brother’s voice on the phone. She looked toward Kaden.
Kaden had strong features, with a sharp jawline and refined facial features. His slightly upturned eyes gave him amanding presence. Sensing Xylia’s gaze, Kaden looked at her and gave her a small smile.
A chill ran down her spine. She began to doubt if her suspicions were true.
Upon hearing Kaden’s words, Connor quickly replied, “I’ve had some disagreements with her recently. I apologize for letting you witness this, Mr. Sadler,”
As he spoke, Connor again turned his gaze toward Xylia, a faint glint of menace flickering in his eyes. He said in a low voice, “Aren’t you going to hurry up and leave?”
Still in shock, Xylia didn’t hear Connor’s words. Connor moved to grab her again.
But before he could, Cyrus stepped forward and blocked him, his gaze cold as he red at Connor. “Try touching her, and see what happens.”
Connor frowned, confused as to why the Sadler family was defending Xylia.
Tessa quickly stepped forward to mediate. “We’re all familiar faces here. Let’s not ruin the atmosphere over something trivial,” she said, trying to smooth things over. But it didn’t work.

Hudson, who had been silent up to this point, let out a sharpugh. “Who said we’re familiar?” Hudson sneered.
Tessa’s smile froze. “I have worked with Sadler Group.”
“There are countless people who’ve worked with the Sadler Group. You’re just a spokesperson. Why would Kaden remember you?” Hudson interrupted.
Tessa’s face flushed with embarrassment, but she quickly regained herposure.
She turned to Kaden. “It doesn’t matter if you don’t remember me. But this is Mr. Ford from Ford Group- surely you know him?
“Mr. Ford would like to discuss a major coboration with you today and hopes that you will do us the honor of considering it, Mr. Sadler.”
Connor jumped in, “Mr. Sadler, may I have ten minutes of your time? I’m sure you’ll be interested in this project once I tell you more.”
Kaden looked at Connor, his expression turning cold again. “Why would I waste ten minutes talking with you?” Kaden replied bluntly.
Connor stood frozen for a moment, stunned by Kaden’s directness.
Kaden then looked at Tessa, his gaze sharp as he spoke. “You just said Ms. Schultz was unfaithful, but your rtionship with Mr. Ford seems even closer. Seems like you’re the one pointing fingers first.
“Mr. Ford, your conduct is reprehensible. Sadler Group will never cooperate with you,” Kaden said, his tone harsh and filled with disdain.
Connor’s face instantly darkened.
