Xylia was caught off guard as Sonny started hurling wooden blocks at her, hitting her all over.
Her skin was delicate, and soon, small bruises began to form on her arms.
By the time she realized what was happening and tried to dodge, Mnie had already grabbed her hair and was dragging her further into the room.
“You’re going to bow and apologize to Tessa right now,” Mnie demanded.
“Yeah, you have to say sorry to Tessa. You’re such a mean woman. This time you really crossed the line,” Sonny shouted.
Xylia felt like her hair was being yanked out by the roots. It wasn’t until Mnie dragged her all the way to Tessa’s room that she finally let
By then, Xylia was hurting so much that tears welled up in the corners of her eyes.

“Well? Aren’t you going to apologize to Tessa?” Mnie barked, her tone harsh and unforgiving.
Xylia was thrown to the floor. When she looked up, she saw Tessa half–reclining against the headboard, and Connor sitting on the edge of the bed, looking down at her with open hostility.
Xylia kept her mouth shut, and Mnie, furious, swung her foot at her, trying to kick her.
But this time, Xylia was ready. As Mnie aimed the kick, Xylia quickly dodged back.
Mnie’s kick hit nothing but air, and the force sent her lurching forward.
“Ah, Mnie yelped. She lost her bnce and crashed to the floor.
“Grandma, Sonny cried out.
“Mom,” Connor shouted.
Sonny and Connor rushed to Mnie’s side and helped her up.
Xylia stood up by herself, shooting the three of them a cold re.
“Xylia, you even dare to go against Mom now?” Connor snapped. After making sure Mnie was fine, Connor got up and shot Xylia a fierce re.
“Your mom tried to kick me. I just dodged. What did I do wrong?” Xylia retorted coldly. She looked at Connor like he was just some stranger to her now.
Connor’s heart gave a jolt, a wave of frustration welling up inside him. “You messed up. Is it wrong for Mom to set you straight? You’re my wife. You-” he started.
“What? Just because I’m your wife, I’m supposed to let you all walk all over me? Xylia cut him off before he
could finish.
Her face was still streaked with red marks, and her hair was all over the ce from Mnie yanking at it.
She looked a mess, but the unbreakable spirit in her eyes made it clear she wasn’t about to back down.
Connor just gaped at her, lost for words for a long moment.
But Sonny, wanting to stand up for his grandma, rushed at Xylia to push her away. “You bullied Grandma. You’re a meandy,” he shouted.
Xylia, face nk, simply stepped aside, letting him rush past her. With a loud thud, Sonny mmed right into the wall and immediately burst into tears.
“Xylia?” Mnie yelled. Not even caring about her own mess, Mnie rushed over and scooped Sonny into her arms, fussing over him, “My sweet boy, it’s okay. I’m here.”
After making sure Sonny wasn’t hurt, Connor shot Xylia a dark, stormy re. “Sonny’s your son; how could you just stand by and let this happen?” he demanded.
“So what if Sonny’s my son? If he tries to hit his mother, am I just supposed to stand there and take it? If I could do it all over again, I would never have given birth to such a heartless son,” Xylia said coldly.
Her wordsnded like a p, leaving Connor and Sonny frozen in shock.
It wasn’t for any other reason; they had simply never heard Xylia say anything so harsh before, especially Sonny.
Sonny was always saying he didn’t want his mom around, but he’d never thought there’de a day when she’d say she didn’t want him either, or that she regretted ever having him.
Not even caring about his own pain anymore, Sonny looked up at his mom.
But what he saw in her eyes was something he’d never seen before, she was looking at him like he was nothing but a stranger.
A wave of panic washed over Sonny.
But he was still just a kid, stubborn and proud. Even though Sonny was terrified his mom might really leave him, he refused to let her see how scared he really was.
Sonny shot Xylia a fierce re, his face all scrunched up in anger. “Who cares? I don’t want to be your kid anyway. If I could choose, I wish Tessa were my mom instead.”
With that, Sonny jumped up and ran out, crying.
“Sonny, you’ve got a bump on your head. Let me put some medicine on it,” Mnie called out, her voice full
of worry.
Connor red at Xylia, his anger ring up even more. “Xylia, when did you turn into this person? Sonny’s just a little kid. Don’t you realize how much your words hurt him?”

“So just because he’s a kid, he gets to say he doesn’t want his mom? Once or twice, I could chalk it up to him just being upset.
“But if he keeps saying it, then I have to believe he means it. So if that’s what he wants, I’ll just let him have it,” Xylia shot back coldly.
Xylia shot Connor a look, then nced over at Tessa lounging on the bed. The smirk on her lips never faded.
“Just like you,” Xylia said with a mocking tone. “Crash at the Ford ce once, it’s just dropping by. But if you keep hanging around, guess that makes you Connor’s fiancée, huh?”
“Xylia, enough of it, Connor yelled. He grabbed her wrist. “Are you out of your mind? What nonsense are you spouting?”
Connor couldn’t help but think Xylia was totally off the rails tonight, like she’d gone crazy and was ready to bite anyone who came near.
Tessa’s eyes brimmed with tears, and they spilled down her cheeks as she listened to Xylia’s words. I’m sorry for causing all this trouble.
“Sonny is always clinging to me, so I juste over to keep himpany. I didn’t know it upset you this much, Xylia. I’ll leave right now.”
She lifted the covers and tried to get out of bed. But the moment she tried to move her foot, a sharp pain shot through her, and she couldn’t help but choke back a sob.
Upon seeing her like that, Connor’s heart twisted with worry, and he hurried over to stop her.
“Who told you to leave? Xylia doesn’t get to decide what happens in this house. You can stay as long as you want,” Connor said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
“Connor, please, don’t do this. Xylia already misunderstands me. Usually, our squabbles don’t matter, but this is your marriage; it’s too important. I can’t be so thoughtless,” Tessa said.
Tessa insisted on getting out of bed, and Connor tried to stop her, but she wouldn’t be deterred.
In his panic, he blurted out, “Fine. Worst case, I’ll just divorce her.”
Right now, nothing was more important than Tessa’s injury. She was a dancer; if her leg didn’t heal right, it could mess up her whole future.
Tessa put on a look of surprise and nced up at Connor. “W–What did you just say?” she asked.
“I said, worst case, I’ll just divorce Xylia,” Connor repeated, his voice firm and resolute.
He braced himself and looked straight at Xylia. He thought he’d see her totally crushed, but instead, she was actually smiling at him–a cool, almost mocking smile.
He froze for a second, but before he could say anything, Xylia cut in. “Hold on to your words. Tomorrow morning, we’re heading straight to city hall and getting that divorce.”

She looked almost excited, like she couldn’t wait to be done with him, and that hit Connor like a punch to the
gut.
Connor snapped, “Fine. I’ll get the divorce papers ready tonight. You’ll дет what you deserve.
“Don’t bother. I already said. I don’t want Sonny, and I don’t want your money, I just want this divorce done, fast. Xylia replied, her voice icy and resolute.
“Don’t bete tomorrow morning,” she shot back, not even looking at him.
Just like that, the whole divorce was wrapped up in a couple of lines.
Xylia shot Connor a look, his face all gloomy, then nced at Tessa, who couldn’t even bother to hide how happy she was.
She snorted coldly and wondered, ‘If I’d known all I had to do was lose my mind for a bit to get Connor to agree to a divorce, why did I bother dragging it out for so long?”
Xylia was just about to walk out when the bedroom door suddenly swung open.
Orion stood there, with the butler right behind him. He looked worn out, but his eyes were zing with intensity.
His voice was calm but firm as Orion said, “Divorce is a big deal. You really thought you could keep this from me? No one’s going to city hall tomorrow.”
