Over the past two days, aside from spending time with Orion, Xylia had been working on her design sketches in her room.
The medicated patch Joshua gave her worked surprisingly well. After just two days, the pain in her wrist had eased.
Although her hand still trembled a little when holding a pencil, after some practice, she was able to draw decently.
Once the sketches were done, she messaged Joshua to ask for the interview address and headed out right away.
Just as she left Ford Mansion, a Bentley pulled up. Tessa stepped out of the car, directing the driver to unload gifts.
She stood in front of the mansion, looking at the grand doors with a smug smile on her face. She was confident that she would move in here sooner orter.

When Xylia arrived at the location Joshua sent her, she quickly spotted him.
He was dressed in a fresh, casual outfit, his hair slightly falling over his forehead, and his captivating eyes locked onto her the moment she approached.
Xylia walked up and asked, confused, “Why are you here?”
“Well, I’ve got nothing to do. Thought I’de with you to the interview,” Joshua replied casually.
Xylia looked at him, wondering how his job seemed so rxed, but she didn’t ask more.
She followed him through thepany gates. Quezada & Co. Apparel Design was one of the top high–end brands in Jupiton, and walking into its headquarters made Xylia feel a bit
nervous.
She had only studied fashion design for a year or two, and now here she was, interviewing at such a bigpany. She wasn’t sure if she’d make it, but she kept herposure, not letting her fear show.
As soon as they entered, Joshua took a call and motioned for Xylia to go ahead, saying he’d catch up with herter. She nodded and walked toward the front desk.
“Hello, I’m here for the interview. My name’s Xylia Schultz, and I’m supposed to meet Mr.
Quezada,” she said.

Mr. Quezada was the person Joshua had told her about and instructed her to ask for.
The receptionist looked Xylia up and down, a hint of mockery in her voice. “We didn’t receive any notice for an interview. Are you sure you’re at the right ce?”
“I’m not mistaken. I… ” Xylia paused, suddenly unsure if Joshua had mixed up the interview time.
Seeing her hesitation, the receptionist sneered. “Some people will do anything to get close to Mr. Quezada, even pretending to have an interview. You really think someone like you could meet Mr. Quezada?”
Xylia furrowed her brows. “I’m not pretending, and please don’t make assumptions about me.”
The receptionist’s tone became sharper. “Look at you. This is a high–end fashionpany. How could Mr. Quezada interview someone like you?”
Xylia nced down at her clothes. They were from a few years ago, outdated.
Since she’d been married, Connor didn’t give her much money, and she’d learned to be frugal, wearing the same clothes for years. She didn’t expect those clothes to now be used against her.
“Just leave, don’t cause trouble here,” the receptionist said, growing more impatient.
Just as Xylia was about to turn and leave, Joshua walked in after finishing his call. “Why aren’t you going up?” he asked.
Xylia turned to him. “Are you sure today’s the right day for the interview? The receptionist says there’s no interview scheduled.”
Joshua looked at the receptionist. She was busy at her desk, but as soon as she caught his she looked up and froze.
gaze,
Joshua wasn’t as patient with the receptionist as he was with Xylia. “Is Mr. Quezada really not avable to interview her?” he asked firmly,
The receptionist knew Joshua well. He was a major client and a close friend of the boss. She couldn’t afford to upset him. “Yes, he’s avable. You can go up now.”
The receptionist was about to say more, but a single nce from Joshua silenced her. He then led Xylia into thepany.
Xylia felt something was off. The receptionist looked almost afraid of Joshua. She tentatively asked, “Is your friend the owner of thispany?”

Joshua nced at her, his eyes briefly flickering. “We met through a business deal. Not exactly friends,” he said.
Xylia nodded, not pressing further. They took the elevator to the top floor.
When the doors opened, they were greeted by Xavi, who was standing near the elevator with an excited expression. He looked a little shocked when he saw Xylia.
Joshua cleared his throat, and Xavi quicklyposed himself. “You must be the one Joshua rmended. Let’s head to the meeting room,” he said.
The interview wasn’t at all what Xylia had expected. Xavi barely asked her any professional questions. Instead, he kept asking when she could start working, as if she was already hired.
Confused, she interrupted him and showed him her design portfolio.
Xavi’s casual tone shifted as he looked at her work. “The lines aren’t perfect, but the ideas are really good.”
Joshua nced at Xylia with a hint of surprise in his eyes, clearly impressed. It seemed that even without his help, she was capable ofnding the job.
Xavi seemed even more excited now. “When can you start? I’ll arrange for one of our top designers to mentor you.”
Xylia lowered her gaze, feeling at a loss with his sudden eagerness.
Joshua cut in. “Her right hand is injured. High–intensity work isn’t suitable for her right now. I had nned for her to submit designs on her own for now,” he said, his tone firm, almost interrupting Xavi.
Xylia was taken aback. Joshua had thought of things she hadn’t even considered. But judging by Xavi’s reaction, it seemed like he was nning to hire her as a full–time employee.
Sure enough, Xavi’s expression turned a bit disappointed, but after seeing Joshua’s serious attitude, he reluctantly agreed. He even epted Joshua’s insistence on full–time benefits for
her.
Xylia felt a bit strange. She quietly observed the two of them and noticed that even though Xavi looked displeased, he agreed to all of Joshua’s demands.
Xavi’s submissive attitude made her feel like they weren’t friends, it was more like Joshua was the boss inspecting the work.
While she was still in thought, Joshua nced at her and asked, “Anything else you need?”
Xylia shook her head. “No, that’s all.”
